Hello

I was lucky enough to get the entire Wikifonia database of 6,675 lead sheets in mxl format. This is over 300 more songs than available on another site. (Wikifonia is no longer in existence.) The file is only about 35mb. Here is the link:
http://www.synthzone.com/files/Wikifonia/Wikifonia.zip

You will need to download the free software Musescore to be able to view, transpose, edit, print pdf's etc. You will also be able to write your own songs with Musescore.

http://musescore.org/

Musescore also has some songs that can be downloaded.

Enjoy!

I am using the XML Database that was on the Yamaha site, but can't get my Win7 search to pick up any songs there. I am using general search on the bottom left. Is there another way ?

Hi

The Music-XML (MXL) format is supported by more than 170 programs! Ref: http://www.musicxml.com/software/

Maybe your current/favorite MIDI sequencing software is on the list.

Bernie,

After selecting file open use the search window at the top right. It should already be pointing to the folder that you put the files in. Works fine for me in W7.

Boy, I feel foolish. I never noticed that search area before. To think of the years of wasted time scrolling.

Thank you very much

Probably easier if you zip yours up separately and attach it to this thread.

Awesome Scott!

Does anyone know if there is a way to setup the wikifonia folder on a computer, so that the song title is viewed before the artist?

Thanks

Well I answered my own request and changed the file names so that the song title only is listed (in alphabetically order).

IMO it's easier to locate a song by title. If interested it's a 32 MB zipped download:Wikifonia Zip File By Song Name

Sheets opens the same way in MuseScore with title and artist.

UPDATE:

I batch converted over 6000 archived songs of the former Wikifonia Sheets to .PDF Format in alphabetical order, by song title. You can browse /search, and download individual sheets, or download two complete (very large) folders, The .PDF sheets are all in the default key of the creator.

Also, still available are the Wikifonia sheets .XML Format in alphabetical order, by song title, for editing in programs such as MuseScore (free)

That's it...

Don't know. I mentioned that to Nigel when it was posted but didn't get a reply.
