Looks like an easy way to get great Vocal Harmony at a low price....BUT as I keep reading it looks like it would only work with Guitar?

I discussed it with an "expert" recently. He said it there is no reason it wouldn't work with a keyboard, because it "hears" the chord and uses that for interpreting harmony. However he though it would probably not be as accurate as it is with guitar.
I have a brand new Harmony M I will sell for $108.

I had the harmony M also with my S900, S910.....
not a good match, very irregular tracking midi signals,...
it worked sometimes & when you really needed it it would default and not recognize your chords especially when I played complex ones. Must be a Yamaha vs TC Hm match problem .....anyway that's gone.. The VH2 sux also in the S950.
Voice solo works well and tracks my powerful voice great.....
just whop needs all the fluff settings included,....just a good tracking VH box is all I need if at all, digitech Vr worked awesome,....I'm weaned off these VH gadgets for a while now and dont miss it at all.......I will however use on when I record backing tracks for harmony parts..

It works seamlessly with BK9. It even automatically found the split point.
Oh, but if anyone tries it, you MUST use a balanced cable between Harmony M and Bk9.
In fact BK9 manual says all connections are optimized for balanced cables.

Seems that a keyboard may feed too much note info for the pedal to work accurately. With a guitar you're only working with 6 notes, with a keyboard it could be 24 or more notes if an arranger or SMF is playing.

If it does work well with a keyboard, I too will have a TC Harmony M for sale...

When using an arranger to feed the guitar input, my guess is that the drums and other instruments will be too much info for the tracking to decipher. Unless you can solo the chords section into the audio IN on the TC, I predict a not so perfect match.

If your arranger has Direct Outs, probably no problem. Just feed it the guitar part, or whatever is doing a full chord.

But I imagine an entire mix would give mixed result. There's a lot of passing notes by the time you have it listen to every note played. Plus none pitched stuff (drums and percussion) that might effect it (maybe it might try to follow the pitch of the toms, on an exposed fill!).

Generally, if it did a good job with a full mix, it would say it on the product... That it doesn't probably indicates the makers tried it and it failed.

Harmony M accepts midi from keyboard. This one doesn't.

My opinion:
This TC piece of equipment is truly the worst sounding ever. The reverbs, harmonies and output are mono and the demo's are not TC worthy.
