Swamped the backing again! Sound like they had the top end rolled off the EQ, too. Compare these to the LaPietrale demos, and it's night and day (wish he had played that one!)...

Why dont any of these get this..... On top of that, the BK9 is the only arranger that has knobs on their interface to take care of this ballance in real time

Most arrangers have a Keyboard/Style balance knob or fader, these days...

But apparently, it's the least used control on the whole arranger!

I have mine (Pa900) set at 'noon' and will adjust when I think necessary depending on the RH volume set in the style ...

My accompaniment is set at 100 on the Tyros4 when not using a volume pedal, and at 80 when I do.

Volume pedal is set to affect only RH sounds.

RH sounds generally default at 100. I like to have a bit more room when using the pedal, especially when backing a singer or instrumentalist.

Best way to hear how you are blending is to keep recording your tunes and listening to the playback.

It's surprising how easy it is to be too loud in the RH, and it takes some getting used to having it set lower...but it's worth it.

The BK-9, on the whole, likes the Balance knob set away from noon down to about 10 o'clock (sometimes even 9) for my touch. If you play the factory presets about there, they sound MUCH better.

I also tend to push my Drums and Bass style Parts up from 100 to about 115... it's easier than backing off all the OTHER Parts!

Once you do that, the Roland gets quite nicely balanced on the whole (although most styles need work to sound their best).

I guess not enough people have played next to a drummer and bassist! Cut the legs out from under THEM, you've cut the legs out from underneath the entire band!

I think a feature arrangers could REALLY use is a separate balance control for the headphone and internal speakers compared to the main outs. That way, you can leave the backing loud and proud out front, but add a hair 'more me' to what ONLY you are listening to.

That would fix the problem!

An audience to die for (or just plain die, LOL)

Mind you, I've seen some pretty NH behavior from some of the Spring Break Kids...
