I have been in business all my working life...The best schedule is to maintain a steady busines....I personally never want (wanted) to be booked ahead ..more than a year..

There is no need to be booked that far in advance..music and otherwise (Contracting)..

It effects your way of life..if everything revolves around the dollar..it becomes a habit...I want to do what ever I want to do..and not plan it a year or two ahead of time..

In the contracting business, locking in a price for more than a year is foolish..and makes bad business..Could be the same in the music business..

I may have had a different approach than you guys..Music was /is for my enjoyment...not the dollar, abandoning family functions etc..is also foolish...you never get that time back..

3 or 4 months of a back schedule is way more than enough...Steady is the only important thing..and leave time in your schedule for the important stuff..

I'm just glad to see Donny still has a head!

His avatar has indicated otherwise for some time now.

Thanks for an informative and interesting post. Sorry some people don't get it. Sharing experiences and ideas is the best part of a Forum like this.
