I agree that Baartmans is the best demonstrator. He has the ability to produce a instant arrangement and knows what instruments to use with a style that fits. Lloyd

Well, you obviously dont speak Dutch, because he didnīt make an actuall joke... He told how embarrased he was one time in England when during a demo he called the Bassoon by its dutch name, which is a fagot..

So if you ever hear a dutchman talk about fagots, he is taking about Bassoons..

(the dutch word fagot is actualy derived from the ittalian word fagotto)

My bad...but I am glad because I really like Baartmans and so am glad he didn't make a joke in poor taste.

If you talk about a [potty mouth] in the UK, you'll be talking about a tasty little item. See here:

A couple of those and mushy peas - the food of Kings!

Edit for the PC machine rolleyes: ”If you talk about a 'fag got' . . ."

Let's call them "bassoons" and be done with it.

BTW,
to expound further on Baartmans, in another clip he played a killer version of "Cavaquinho" and also a beautiful rendition of "Tea for two", with some chord substitutions that I really loved. I would pay good money to have him teach me those chord changes. Anyone knows if there something on this subject on YouTube?

Never. I'll call them by their proper name. LOL! If I went into a butcher's and asked for bassoons I might get a silly answer.

Andrea, here's a YouTube link for chord subs. Nicely seasonal, too.
