I always think American Thanksgiving is too close to Christmas. I couldn't stomach two load-ups of turkey in the space of one month. Come to that, I don't even like turkey, anyway. smile

124, we all have our cross to bear. wink Though it's probably not the turkey and fixings that puts on those extra pounds as much as the beer, snacks and football games that follow the same evenings. smile

You have to get with an Italian family for Christmas - antipasti, chicken soup, any or all of the following pasta: Lasagna, Ravioli, Manicotti , bone in rib roast/crown pork roast/racks of lamb AND a ham, of course with ALL the fixings ... and that's not to mention DESSERT !!! bounce

Oh, believe me, I know about Italian food having done a four-month gig in Sicily many years ago. I came home about 30lbs heavier than when I'd left. drink Loved every minute of it, too. rocker

I'd be happier with a good Cape Breton feed of boiled potatoes, fresh green beans, Haddock fillets and scrunchions.

Christmas dinner will be boiled lobster, shelled and then fried in butter...served with potato salad.
