Ok, I actually never left, but simply got involved with other projects that kept me from remaining an active sz poster.
That said, I've remained an occasional lurker. bounce laugh
Though I suffered from trigger finger a year ago, following surgery,I recovered fully in 3 weeks and and was back gigging again soon after that.
A year after surgery, I continue to have full range of (left thumb) movement, experience no pain or any sign of a scarring.

For much of 2013, I took a break from arranger keyboards to pursue other interests, but now with the excitement of Tyros5,
I'm back with renewed enthusiasm & excitement, as I pre-ordered a 61 note Tyros 5 from Frankie @ AudioWorksCT. rocker
I'm keeping my fingers crossed mine will be included in his first batch of pre-ordered Tyros5's received from Yamaha. I've already sold my Tyros4 so hope to receive my Tyros5 in time for my upcoming holiday gigs.
Though I still got my Korg MicroArranger as a backup, its no comparison to Tyros 5 or 4.

The Tyros5 features I'm most excited about are the 40 new styles that incorporate +audio drum loops, as well as the even more improved "natural" realism of instrument voices (esp strings & horns) and the impressive punch the new DSPs, all of which is easily heard by me in the Tyros5 demos. To my ears, Tyros 5 is a very worthy upgrade from Tyros 4. I'll let you know if I still feel this way after I receive mine. smile

Good to see you back posting, Scott...you were missed.

My buddy Johnny Coy has a Tyros5-76 ordered, and I usually help him get his arrangers set up to suit him, so I'll at least have a chance to play one.

Glad to hear your trigger finger has been corrected.

Congrats on your Tyros5 purchase, and I'm looking forward to your review.

Ian

Scott, great to see you posting again - we really missed you around here. Glad to hear that trigger finger is resolved, but a word of advice from an old man that spent a shot lifetime in the medical field, keep it active or it WILL eventually freeze up and give you problems. Play till three days after you're dead and buried and you shouldn't have any problems.

Stay active my friend,

Gary cool

Scott, I have had two trigger fingers worked on, and now do not have any problems with playing! I have one problem though since I can never have a tyros 5! I have the psr-710 board and am 79 so I will have to make it do! So very glad to see you back to posting now, and look forward to your take on the t5!

Scott,
This is Lloyd, your good friend and so glad your back on a website. We have all missed you. We have lot's to talk about when we get out Tyros 5s. I do hope you are one of the lucky recipients of the first batch of keyboards. Next week should tell the story. Hope there are no flubs to stall the shipment.
Lloyd
