Friends,

What are the setup on s950 to drive the vocal harmony/effects by std midi files like tune 1000s?
How to re voice std midi files and save them permanently?

Thanks for any input?

Jimmy,

The old Tune 1000 songs used track(channel) 4 to drive the harmony parts, but the S950 does not automatically select those Tune 1000 setups now - so you will need to select channel 4 in your VH setup file for those MIDI's.

For other MIDI's you will need to find or make a track with the chord parts for your harmony.

Hi Bill,

Isn't the harmony data is in track 5?
Regardless, how do you set it up? Do you need to select an harmony type and save it with the song in a registration? I tried many ways but I can't make it work. Maybe I'm missing something.
My previous Roland E80 does it beautifully, it provide you the right harmony automatically.

Thanks

Jimmy,

You are probably right about the channel being 5 not 4 - been a long time since I fooled around with Tune 1000. ;-)

I am not a singer, but I have done some programming of VH for others in the past.

The VH is pretty well explained in the Reference Manual for the S950 starting on page 85.

You can download the manual for free from Yamaha at the following link:

http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/index.php

If you want some detailed help with this just e-mail and I try my best.
