Our good friend Rory Hoffman was a demonstrator for the Marcodi instrument a few years ago. Had a chance to invest in the company and didn't. Rory is seen on several UTube postings playing the hell out of the thing.

Interesting concept.

I feel that there will be things available in 30 years we can't even imagine today.

But there will still be room for interpretation, talent and self-expression...a BIG PART of what being a musician is all about.

Hey, old folks! Don't worry, with "youngsters" like Paul (Montunoman) around, the "Zone" will be "alive and well" long after us "oldsters" are gone.

I called him an hour or so ago. You would be hard pressed to find a friendlier, more articulate person, who is also a passionate and talented musician. I'm sure he's a great teacher, much loved by his students.

In spite of the "naysayers" out there, young, passionate players are in abundance and will "tear it up" long after we're gone, using whatever technology has produced in terms of instruments.

I'm a traditionalist, so picking up a phone and calling someone out of the blue you only know from the internet is a
pleasure....today certainly was.

Thanks, Paul,

Your friend,

Russ (speak up, ya whippersnapper (LOL) Lay

Where in the hell is my flying car that I was told in the 50's that I would be driving around in the 80's. Some even said we'd all have helicopters by then.

Don't be surprised if they just progress to the point of having as good a sequencer as my i30.

Without a good sequencer I would have to play my sax with records, mp3's or whatever.

I'm tickled that I'm not into high tech. I wish they wouldn't have invented computers until I would have died. They probably are really bad for all you old farts with high blood pressure. LOL!

... For those who have the ability to add sound samples of traditional Chinese and Arabic instruments, they'll have work ...
