After I found out that I can better not sing, I asked my sister to do a quick recording. I think the song itself doesn't need any further explanation smile

I made a simple midifile, and combined it with a guitar multipad (chords) and EP sound. Mixing was done in Logic.

Enjoy!

Best Regards,

Joost

I listened to this song on headphones with only medium to low volume but the keyboard sounds at the beginning, before the singer came in, really affected my eardrums, almost causing pain. I had to turn the volume down. Maybe it was the effects being used but something about that sound really reverberated in my ears. Did anyone else have this sensation? The song and singer were very nice, by the way.

Tremolo panning on the Rhodes, just like an old Suitcase!

Yes, on phones, if hard panned, it can be a bit disorienting..!

impressive performance by a very talented player.
Still I think the other recording with his sister and her friend beats them all, simply breathtaking:

Another thing you dont see much anymore families playing music together like years ago...today your lucky to even see your kids let alone get everyone together in the living room to sing and play together. All the technology in this so called modern world of high tech gadgets still can never replace the happiness shared by families years ago thru music.

Donny ... I remember your version of "Islands" very well, as well as "Quando" ... great work !!! clap clap clap

You are right about the lack of 'family enjoyment' ... nowadays it is a BIG thing for a family to be together for DINNER once a week ... frown ... at our gatherings when we were kids there was ALWAYS music being played by one relative or another and everyone singing ... even the kids played guitar or accordion ... and this was in the MAJORITY of families ... technology and sports have taken the place of 'family togetherness' ... I have good friends who are in FL until April ... their daughter and two grand-daughters are going down for Easter while their son-in-law and grand-son stay home because the boy has a 'tournament' to play in ... what importance can this tournament hold for a 12 year old, that this Christian family will not be together for Easter??? ...

Joost, I am sorry to have HIJACKED your thread ... it is wonderful seeing you and your sister enjoy music together ... We would LOVE to see more ...
Thank you ...
