Diki, down here nearly all the venues are outdoors, consequently, the drop-off seems to be more noticeable. And, yes, Donny, there is a drop-off with ALL sound systems, but it is far less with the Bose vertical arrays, averaging less than 10 percent at 50 feet with the L1 Compact. With the standard L1 and Model II, if I recall, the drop-off was about 10 percent at 100 feet, which is negligible in comparison to conventional sound systems.

Yep, when I used the full L1 rig, drop off was a fraction of what a conventional system does. Of course, there's SOME, but nothing like what a non-array system does.

But whether you want this drop off or not is another matter...
