GREAT PLAYING ....AWESOME DEMO ....

Can't argue at all... No words needed, all the main features shown.

So... where have the arranger Divisions gone wrong..?

a) They hire old farts like us to play old fogy music to older fogy buyers, then sit around and wonder why sales drop off and youngsters avoid them like the plague!

And b) The styles and sounds guarantee than nothing from this century (or the last decade or so of the last) will ever get played on them.

Marc Parisi is about the only remotely contemporary demonstrator for Korg, and his stuff is few and far between. Where are the arranger demonstrators that aren't mired in last century's music?

We either have to get more stuff like this into our arrangers, or the manufacturers need to get some of the better arranger features into keyboards like this. Imagine how much BETTER this thing could be with a four Variation drum section with fills. Loopers can only take you so far.. you build up a big overdubbed loop like the demo did, but where, musically, do you go with it..? You keep slathering stuff on, but there's no way to take it OFF, or move to another loop and back, etc..

Youngsters are missing out on some really useful stuff from arrangers, and we are missing out on some really useful (as long as you don't just play the NH circuit!) features from things like this.

At some point or another, someone needs to step up to the plate and combine the best of BOTH...

I'm still not a huge fan of the Roland Leslie sim. To my ears, the Nord's and even more, the KeyB's blow it out of the water.

But it's an interesting concept, going after the Nord market on the one hand and upping the stakes with a pretty flexible synth too (so pushing into Nord Stage country at a fraction of the price). I hope it is a big seller for them (maybe the cash injection would give them the money to fund the R&D for a TOTL arranger again? LOL).
