Thanks Tony,
I dont realy anderstand what do you want to say to TWD,but TWD I thing can do that.
I would like to say what I am saying a couple of times:my English is not briliant and sometime cant anderstant in fundamental what some member want to say specially when someone used a "sleng".
Guide for haw to instal new Styles and Sounds is (for me) a litlle confusing.I supose in some text first must be a title and then explanation haw to....
That is not the case in that user guide.
And what you realy mean with word:"I thing..."Are you shure or you mean:"can be..."

Dusan,

Your English looks OK to me, but I did tell TWD a few weeks back that Ketron need get the English in the instructions right, saying MEM files with a “s” on the end means more than one, As I understand it you only delete one MEM file and that is in the C:\ directory (ROOT)it is called “AUDYA41A.MEM” that is if you did load OS4.1A on your KB, this is the one to delete, using the KB not a PC.

What Ketron should do because they are selling the KB into all parts of the world is to make a short video and put it on YOUTUBE and then you can watch the button sequence? It will do for any language, or is that too simple.

The *.mem file is the current OS file in your AUDYA's Hard Drive. This file (in your case AUDYA41.mem) needs to be deleted and replaced with the *.mem file found in the USB pen drive.

When copied, you must turn your AUDYA off, then on as you hold down F10 and UNPLUGGED to load the new OS which provides the new system files to install the new sounds.

If you don't install the OS file provided in the USB stick, you will have to manually install the Sound files and this could be a little complicated as it involves deleting current Sound parameter and data file first before replacing with those from the new USB pen.

The new OS includes functions that will assist you in installing the new Sounds from the USB pen drive.

Hope this explains it better.

Thanks,

AJ

Hey AJ , what do you think about Tony's idea of a vidio on u-tube for the pen drive install. It sure would be of great help to those of us that don't have alot of understanding of just what to do. Even though I'm not an Audya owner just yet I will be as soon as I can get one. It would be great if you could get that done. Thanks

Robbo Great,

I am still waiting for mine it should be any day now, I thought UK allways gets Ketron gear first but it appears Europe did, Ketron sell at lot of product into Europe it's those Turkish and Latin sound they are good at. Cha Cha Cha ! If I had mine now it would be on the KB ASAP. Hope Dusan is up and running with his, I bought a Trend Router for doing some worktops, if you go on Youtube there are more video of how to use Routers than anyone ever playing an Audya, it would take two minutes to make a video, "loading on your updates", you could even make it a silent video, I think I will make one of, taking the top off the "Audya Off" Julie Andrews would be in it, she could be singing "Climb Every Mountain" only joking!!!

Robbo,

I thought I would be the first to tell you what my Audya sounded like with the new bits on it, I played the Audya 5 last week and it's brilliant. Dusan will be first unless he is still loading it, he has had the pen now for more than 18hrs, and he has not been back to tell yet, I hope it doesn't take all that time to load it (2.5hrs). Hope he didn't get a power cut whilst it was loading. Imagine his wife when he gets home from work, he left the Audya uploading, his wife would say “Dusan you nut, you left your KB on buzzing away all day, I turned it off, call yourself a environmentalist” there would be blood on the carpet. AJ help me, help me. Come on Dusan I can’t wait the suspense is killing me and others.

Regards

Very easy to think there are more than one file when you read this on the Ketron web site.

"a) Delete all files with “.MEM ” extension of the Main Directory (ROOT) on the System Hard Disk “ C: ”.

Robbo I saw a blue flash from the direction of Slovenija this morning, could that be Dusan turning on after the pen was loaded, he is hellish quiet, it's worrying me, I would have been on here babbling about it.
Hope he knows where to put the pen drive??
Dusan front slot anyone will do , not in your PC OK. please tell us how you went on, please. it will be my bed time in about 4 hrs.

Robbo,

If you hover over it, don't get your leg caught up in the flex and pull the plug out the wall socket, half way in, do it just at the begining, the pain will be much less, but the KB will still be in a hell of a state....Doh!!!

I think there is something wrong with Dusan's loading or he would have been back now .

Hi all, I'm new here. Loaded the USB update this weekend - AMAZING transformation of my Audya.
I stumbled at the point of copying the new 41B.MEM file over from D:/REMOV to C:/ drive and I feel there's something missing in the instructions. My dealer helped.
It's straigt forward to select D:/REMOV and scroll down to 41B.MEM - then select it and press COPY. You are now given 2 destination options - C:/ or D:/REMOV? Obviously you select C:/.
Now you see all the files on your C:/ drive. Your previous 41A.MEM file was located BELOW all the yellow folders and that's where your new 41B.MEM has to go. The problem is you cannot scroll up or down to select C:/ itself at the top - the cursor is always on one of the folders which is fine. If you press ENTER the 41B.MEM file will automatically be transferred to C:/ in the correct location. My point is this: it's ESSENTIAL that whichever folder the cursor is on in C:/ you MUST not SELECT that folder because 41B.MEM wil then go into that folder.
To my mind the confusion arrises from the cursor sitting on a folder rather than C:/ drive at the top.
Hope this might help someone not get into trouble installing the update.
TYROS 4 coming out in OCT. - looks identical to TYROS 3 but inside all changed. It's got to be a MONSTER to beat the updated Audya.
Best regards to all. Carl

Welcome Carl, and good luck to Dusan, with both the job and the keyboard.
I've had most of the upgrade for quite a while, and absolutely love what they have done, as I said previously.
I am waiting for the finished version, as most of us are, to see what it on there that I don't have yet.
I had very few problems with the update procedure, but I had AJ walking me through it via email and phone.
It should be much easier now that it is all packaged up and has a set of instructions.

Is it still loading Dusan........ if it's going to take more than 3 days to load I think I will have to book a few days off work. I will buy a standby generator and some fuel for it. I knew I should have bought that old Wurlitzer and dug a hole in the floor.

Good luck Dusan

Regarding the USB pen drive installation - DO pay extra attention and double check that 41A.MEM is removed and 41B.MEM is successfully located on your C:/ drive BEFORE re-starting Audya holding down F10 & UNPLUGGED buttons.
The first time I selected the 41B.MEM file, clicked COPY and destination C:/ - I pressed EXECUTE and the paste transfer did not happen. Second time I pressed ENTER and the 41B.MEM appeared on my C:/ in the right location.
THE POINT IS THIS - had I deleted 41A.MEM and done a re-start WITHOUT realising that 41B.MEM had not copied over to C:/ there would have been no Operating Sytem onboard??? Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems to me that people have to pay SPECIAL attention here before re-starting Audya.
The last installation step is simple - just select 00KTNinstall00 and press ENTER, wait 3 1/2 hours and your done.
Dusan has probably been up all night enjoying all the new gorgeous sounds - I hope it went well Dusan. Carl

In short words:easy and with no trouble.Instalation progres is realy slow about 3 auers and 20 minits. Is hard to weight but like you see I maket some picture in the midle of time.
First impression is realy good.New sounds sound fresh and live.Specialy Brass sounds,Sax and Guitars.I liket a new El.Pianos they are really good. Some sounds is new some are old but reworked.
In style section I am not so inprest.I dont know a reason for my fealings, but maby is just first inpreshion and expect to mach maby.I haw no time to listen all but what I hear looks to me more or les the same.I dont fined a new one jet...
Styles in majority sounds a litle softly also variation goes gently.
After all I must say,Ketron did a great jobe with this upddate.
That is all what I can say about new Sound and styles for naw.

It will be helpful if some body with that have run the Pen drive update can explain what is:

"melody controls with OTM ( One touch melody )" as describe in the Ketron site. Maybe a feature similar to Kog OTS?

From Ketron.it:

PRESETS & PROGRAMS : 430 new Presets and 320 new Programs.
Ketron’s new VCE : Voice Character Emulation featuring authentic sound reproduction using Key Off, Sound noises, Morphing, Rotor to Pedal, Aftertouch, Sustain switch and Coupling features.
New melody controls with OTM ( One touch melody ) and Harmony types linked to Preset or Program voices.

Leezone,

no problems with the update, everything worked fine. J just played now for about 1 hour with my "NEW" keyboard - yes it is a difference.

- Sounds in the accordeon, guitar, brass and sax sections are refactored, my impression is that they are warmer now.
- The "Voice Character Emulation" is quite nice.
- Programs are not just a simple copy of the presets
- ~ 15 new styles
- Styles are more balanced

...just some first impressions of the update after 1 hour

Joe

There are some great new distortion guitars. There is a Carlos Santana guitar that is really good. A Ray Blues guitar and several more.

Yes, the procedure is right, but you have to load the 00ktinstall00 file on the pen drive, not on the hard drive.

Joe,you prabebly mean:from Pen drive, cos instal file is only on that USB kay.In ather way instal file exsist only on Pen drive and user must tu navigate on that drive, shouce instal file and say Enter. That is all....
Dont try to load instal file to C root on your HD in Audya or some ather folder in Audya!!!!!

Dusan (and others).

If you want the styles to sound as HARD as they did in previous OS, please do the following:-

* Press the STYLE MODE button.
* Select DRUM 1/2.
* Change the value of F8/Bass Frq from "-3" to "0".
* Press EXIT.

* Go to MENU - Keyboard Control (F4), TRANS/VOL (F1) and change SOUND CARD LEVEL (F2) to 60 (also do this if you want to use AUDYA in the STUDIO, otherwise, for LIVE play leave at 42!).

** Now play style. If happy with new sound, press SAVE and save under CUSTOM SETUP. If not, repeat DRUM 1/2 and change this value to +1 (as was in older OS).

Thanks,

AJ
