I have read about SZ folks that are always looking for a way to display lyrics or sheet music to use while playing arranger keyboard..

This is a feature that is available with the BK5..

The USB player can show jpg files..they can be fake book lead sheets, music score, chord changes , lyrics, or a picture of my UPS girl that Donny keeps posting.. smile

You need to use an external monitor to view...It can be used while we play arranger keyboard...or you can use the jpg view while playing MP3 , wave. or sequences...

Fran

Love to see that feature in action. I'm contemplating an IPAd with Unrealbood for my music. If the BK5 can do what the IPad can do I might be able to overlook the BK5's toy keyboard. Let me know if your in the area for a gig or whatever.

Of course you couldn't re size and annotate on the fly like an ipad.

If it could call up the matching "Preformance" associated with the lead sheet that would be amazing for live work. Less button pushing and more playing.
How bout it Fran, tell us more, and more about the rumored BK7 you mentioned.

It's a good feature in theory, but utterly impractical for live use. You cannot link a .jpg to a Performance (or multiple .jpg's if you need two pages) and it takes considerable button pushing to change the displayed picture. It has a 'slideshow' feature, but there's no way to synchronize the speed of the slideshow to the tempo of the piece you are playing.

Once again, Roland show us how they can take a perfectly brilliant concept, and nerf it to the point of making it useless.

Kudos, Roland! computer

I was going to get a footswitch for the same setup, but found that a mere touch on the right edge turned the page immediately. However, I am using PDF lead sheets. If the song had many turns in the middle of a phrase, I would think otherwise.

In any event. it sure beats my old MPP.

I've been using the PageFlip works great. Sometimes I just use the touch screen on the iPad when I just need to move forward. I like the dual pedal page forward and page back feature. Page Flip Blue Tooth Page Turner

A week or so ago DNJ posted this iPad holder/stand On-Stage TCM9150 iPad for musicians I took a gamble and bought one. I figured worse case would replace my iPad protective cover if it didn't work out. I used it on a gig yesterday and I give it a thumbs up rocker It's mounted on a mic stand, for my use it's perfect. It's got a low profile and almost blends in with the arranger and keyboard stand.
