I modified the "Pro" BossaNova on my S910 (and it works perfect on my Tyros4) to have some interesting pads I took from some other styles...the pads actually change notes very slowly, and work perfect with every chord change. I also smoothed out transitions from Variation to Variation.

The Bossa is perfect for restaurant work, as it has an uptempo "busier" feel, but is still very relaxing to listen to.

I also use Bossa on This Masquerade, The Nearness of You (as a change from slow Jazz Ballad) as well as the more common use in Girl From Ipanema and others.

Hi Ian, I have a "Guitar Bossa" that you made. I use it quite a bit. I remember your recording of the "The Nearness of You". Great stuff.

Larry, I love the Yamaha "Slow Bossa" also. It sounds great at faster tempos as well. I also like to use the Yamaha "Fast Bossa" at slower tempos.

Thanks, Montunoman...I also find certain Rumba styles have the same effect (busy but relaxing)...I sometimes use Rumbas for some Roy Orbison tunes, like "Crying", and "In Dreams" for a different flavor.

I also like the "Slow Bossa" Larry mentioned plus the "Fast Bossa" you referred to...plus the Tyros4 (and others, perhaps) has a great Organ Bossa that I really like.

Gee...remember when we thought arrangers were pretty spiffy when they had 32 rhythms...I remember some early Yamaha's with only 8!(and they weren't editable either).

Ian
