My use will be Lyrics, JPEG, and exploring and enjoying. I do understand that the Apple IPad locks you into dealing with them; and possibly at higher prices.

I purchased a PC many years ago; one of my reasons was to keep up with technology. I guess it is the same for me on this topic.

I love my Android pad. It's a Motorola Xoom. It does everything I want it to do, and has facility for plenty of storage on SCHC card.
The Galaxy is a highly rated Android.

I got an iPad on the first day of it's release in 2010. It has been an invaluable tool for the last 2 plus years, not only for music related apps, but just about any other interest including photography, on line magazines, newspapers. The list goes on and on. Sure iPads more expensive than knock offs, but they have thousands of apps, more than any of us can use in a life time. Next week the rumor mill has Apple releasing a smaller iPad with a 7 inch screen. You may want to wait until October 10th to see what they announce. Based on Apple's history we probably won't see a release of another 10 inch iPad until Spring 2013. You can save $100 and get the iPad2 for $399. If I were in the market for an iPad I'd get the current model called the "New iPad". It's so called retina display is incredible.

I have to say this place is like no other place – the response, the people -nice.

I resisted getting an ipad for a long time, as I wanted to see what the competitors were going to come up with. In the end, I bought the new ipad for the retina display and plethora of apps, like Stephen says.

You can say that you are locked into itunes and Apple or you can say you have access to the best. This is only true for apps and propriatory software. I downloaded Unrealbook for lyrics e.g., and easily imported several hundred of my PDF's. The display is fantastic, and can easily read it. I did the same with Karaoke Anywhere for my MP3&G's.

This is just the tip of the iceburg. Pure quality baby. I bought the 16GB because I don't store a ton of audio. Of course, you always have cloud for any purchases.

Its been long since I posted here. Good to be back.

I have the new Ipad 3. I can tell you its a real gem.

I use it when I play my S900. Place it on the music stand and all my lyrics are stored on it in iBooks in pdf form.

The hi res retina display is an absolute joy to look at each time.

My friend has the samsung galaxy tablet but the text clarity on the Ipad is leagues ahead on the Ipad which helps while reading lyrics.

You wont go wrong with the Ipad.
