Is it possible to copy from one style to another? I.E. Copy End 1 slowrock 4, to End 2 slowrock 8.
Thanks

well Skude, following is from recent AJ post:

3. STYLE CREATION (Available as of OS4.0)

* You can create a style from scratch or build a style using style parts from existing styles (both factory and user).
* Select a User style and press EDIT to access the PATTERN EDITOR.
* Select NEW STYLE to create a new style from scratch or simply EDIT the current style selected.
* Here, you can COPY parts from other pre-existing styles into your styles.
* You can also copy their corresponding AUDIO parts (Drum, Bass, Guitar) or the Bass from STYLE A, GUITARS from STYLE B ...etc. It doesn't matter as they all pull from the same library.

I tried copying a part of an existing style to another style. As far as I can see, this does not work. Yes I can copy parts within a style, but not like on e.g. my XD3. Here it is possible to select a source style and a destination style.
Have I missed something on the Audya.
AJ can you help here on the procedure....please.

Joe

For some reason I can't seem to find it, "copy" within a style OK, but from another style, not sure, just printed the manual, have to take a better look.

Think you posted while I was writing, I have the same problem. The style I'm working I want to copy end1 from another style, can't find how to select the style. there must be a way to do this.

AJ,

are you correct when you say:

" you can COPY parts from other pre-existing styles into your styles."

Yes you can. However, unless you do not want to also copy the AUDIO part (Drum, Bass or Guitar), both styles cannot differ by great BMP. So you cannot say copy from a style with an original BPM of 40 into another style with a BPM of 120. BPM must be about 15-20% close, otherwise you loose the audio quality of the style.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

seems like ONLY AJ knows how to do it.

AJ, please post step-by-step

seems like this simple task of source/destination is not so simple :-)

This was a tough one, not even one Audya owner that reads this that can help.

i'm not expert but...

i'm starting to think that you CAN'T copy parts from style to style even with OS4(source >> destination)
even though it's been said that you can

I think you are right. From manual: F9- COPY: Used to access the copy menu where you can copy from one STYLE PART TO ANOTHER. cannot find anything about copy from one style to another. Hope I'm wrong.

I tryed too to copy but just into style parts not from other styles.I belive there is a catch but if Aj know maybe he will tell us.
Maybe you are a little hard with Aj.He has other things to do not just answer our questions. And answering this forum take a long time.I understand him.Tne bigger problem is the factory e-mail.They should have a man to answer all the mail we send via Ketron site.
I had a few answers time ago and they were correct and worked. But they should do much better. This way supposed to go.

Friends.

Sorry for the late response. I used my AUDYA (with a later OS) and quickly rushed an answer out there that for now is not valid.

COPY only available within the same style. Copying from style to style soon to come (Source <-> Destination).

Again, sorry for the lateness.

Thanks,

AJ

AJ,
thanks for the honesty

i know you said soon to come but...

please STRESS to Ketron that MANY users need this,
and this is a basic function on all old Ketron Keyboards

Great!
But this would be even better if it could be done via style
creation/editing software at the PC as well.

Cheers

Or it might be the Virus of:
No Ketron arranger can copy from style to style unless bot elements are of the
same exact number of Bars. If Source style element is 4 bars and Destination has already
elements with 2 bars length then no, it wont copy. It was one of the issues i rasied many
times on meetings with AJ if it can actually be fixed with an OS update, not just on Audya.
