Hey!
Does anyone faced the same problem?
I've tried to connect Midjay with Windows7 laptop,it's looking like the USB Audio driver from Windows doesn't recognize USB Midi Midjay port.
It's working like external HDD with no probs...
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi
Try the windows update site, or if the Ketron came with a disc have a look on there (A Vista driver usually works fine)
Alternatively try using one of the generic USB drivers in windows 7
Hope this helps

Hi Vio
I would contact Ketron, as the driver coding for Windows 7 has been available to manufactures for a good 12 to 18 months.
What version of Windows 7 are you using, as if it is pro or ultimate you can download a free virtual version of Windows XP that runs within Windows 7, that way you have all the benefits of Win 7 along with full support of XP.
Hope this helps

I put on Windows7 Ultimate x32.I was thinking about installing virtual XP, but as long as we look for a new ,better, faster and reliable OS...I rather stuck on XP for the next couple of years, till I'll change my platform for an Apple...
I also had lots of problems with M-audio firewire 410 on W7,lucky just get sold!
It's looking like it needs few years for MS to to solve all the bugs and incompatibilities.
Thanks again Bill!
Happy New Year!

Hey Ketroners!

I just "hacked" Windows7 in order to have Midi communication with Midjay.
It's very simple, in fact I overwrite USBAUDIO.SYS from W7 with an old version of SYS from Windows XP.
Windows 7 has 3 files (only 2 if it's a fresh W7 installation).Overwriting SYS should be done in Linux,Dos or any other OS.
Next is exactly how I did

1.Search for USBAUDIO.SYS from Windows XP.
If you don't have it send me an Email to viocaia@yahoo.com and I'll mail it for you!
2.Save the file in a new partition,stick,cd..etc.
3.Install Windows7.
4.Reboot in Linux,or any other OS.I booted from Hiren CD then Windows Lite XP
5.Search for USBAUDIO.SYS.It should be 3 locations if you already attached Midjay after W7 install..here's where I found it:

I. c:\Windows\winsxs\x86_wdma_usb.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_6cee31c5182e7ad2\usbaudio.sys
II. c:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\wdma_usb.inf_x86_neutral_3436210257797730\usbaudio.sys
III. c:\Windows\System32\drivers\usbaudio.sys

So..I overwrite all this versions with the old one from Windows XP SP3
Give a restart and when I connected Midjay , everything was alrite!!!
Hope it helps!

Well done Vio, let’s hope it doesn’t affect any other USB devices.
Really shows determination though

Hey Abacus!
I tested the "new" USB driver. It's working perfect with all other gadgets...printer USB to Parallel port, Nokia USB cable to mobile,HP Photocamera, another generic USB Midi Interface,Edirol 4fx Audio Interface, even my external dvd writer..so I think it's ok ..till Ketron or Microsoft will fix the situation(I don't think so in my lifetime!)

I just clean installed Win 7 Home Premium and connected with my Midjay. Can send and receive files ok. Just using the drivers that came with Win 7.

Hey RonDomo!
Yes..that's true , the problem was with mid comunication..
To transfer file in between is no problem with native W7 USB driver.
Anyway I solve it...
Thanks!
