Wendsday morning the Musik Messe in Frnkfurt starts out, with europe being more favourable to arrangers then the US, will we see something new? Should we see something sensational? what are your expectations for this weeks Messe?

Or do you expect something Yamaha or Roland in the workstation market where the Kronos is taking a lot of customers away from Yamaha and Roland?

With Winternamm being such a desillusion for keyboard players, there ought to be something great at teh Musik Messe? right?

If thats all they can release, the same old T4 in a different jacket (color). If they had only listened to musicians for 3 minutes, they would have known to make it a black pro edition with 76 keys.

This just prooves to me that Yamaha is stuck in their current development cycle and try to get as much money out of the same old technollogy they have been using for years.

It should be a Music Mess.

I think it is more to do with the apparent fact that ALL Yamaha arranger keyboards are home keyboards only. And SERIOUSLY geared after the Yamaha home organist and organ users.

That is not a criticism, just an observation. They can do it, are doing it and are being successful at it... (IF you measure success by $'s and C - for me success is not money related at all)

Just because a small group disagree or even become quite vitriolic in complaint, will make scant difference, or even raise an eyebrow at the Yamaha decision making executive level!!!

This is the market (home user semi/fully retired) with the most cash to be gouged, so Yamaha are unashamedly milking this segment for every cent it can get.

"Greed is good" (Gecko-Wall Street) ....for some, not others. But Yamaha as a corporation, certainly follow this principle, as well as ALL other corporations follow it....well maybe one day, and perhaps that day is coming sooner than they think.....they will start to reap what they have sown!!

A real killer would be if, once Yamaha sells this limited run of 2,500 keyboards, THEN they immediately release a NEW model.
The wouldn't do that though. . . would they?

I don't blame Yamaha doing business this way. Milking the cow why should't they I would do the same. What I do blame Yamaha is ripping people off. The Tyros 4 is in no way worth 4000 Euro. It is way overpriced.

Sorry Frans, but you really are contradicting yourself!!

In the one paragraph you are saying that you don't blame Yamaha for doing business this way....and that you would even do the same!!!

But then end by then saying this is wrong because they are ripping people off!!! what the....???!!!

Yes Dennis I mean. Milking the Cow as putting the same technique in a new Jacked for years. They do that since the Tyros 1. I don't blame Yamaha for that. Korg did the same with the Triton. Yamaha is ripping people off because the price is way too high.
