Hi Al, thanks for the heads up on this new Apple iPad/iPhone app from Yamaha. smile
Pretty nifty. Though I've got both an iPad and iPod Touch,
I esp appreciate the larger iPad screen to more easily view , touch, and navigate iPod/iPhone music apps.
I can easily see the learning benefit of seeing each successive chord appear, but only 'two at time' (current chord & next chord).
Nice way to quickly p/u & memorize the chord changes to new songs.
Realizing it costs $2.99 per song, wondering if it's also possible (with this app) to create your 'own songs' by entering song chords & rhythms yourself.
- Scott cool

Scott,

Yes....it's pretty cool. I haven't been able to figure out how to download the iPad app, I only see the iPhone app. I haven't tried it yet. The only free song I saw is Red River Valley.

This will be a nice new app for your brand new iPad3!!!

Let me know how you like it. I have the iPad2 and I'm tempted to get the 3.

Sounds like a good app... But sadly... I dont find it here in the app store for India.. Seems like its only for the US users which is by far the majority here in SZ.

Is it possible that Yamaha is inspiring from vArranger?

The Song Chord is in vArranger since one year

Thanks Dan. I am aware that the Varranger is an awesome piece of software arranger. I prefer a hardware setup. but may be somewhere down the line in the future, I may add Varranger as well.

Knowing that it is able to play Yamaha, Ketron and very soon the Roland styles as well, you have a great all in one software arranger there. And if you come up with all software solution(No SD2/midi module) and a Mac Version, that would be amazing and you will have to upgrade your web server and payment gateway to be able to handle the ever growing number of buy requests !!
Good Luck.
