Same here in Eastern Canada, especially Cape Breton, "son" and/or "buddy" are used almost interchangeably and are meant as friendly greetings.

Well, Don, old son, old buddy...it is a snowy, windy and relatively balmy -24 Celsius here today (-11 for you Fahrenheit chaps)...a day on the golf course here would require big gloves, warm clothes, insulated (or heated) club handles and orange balls. wink

Fore!

It's easy to forget we are in a group with so many diverse languages and that to many English is certainly not their language of choice.
I am in awe of people who speak a second or third language. I've been trying to learn Spanish, but it has been slow progress.
I am fluent in Pig Latin though.

We used to use pig latin when we were kids, thinking our parents didn't understand what we were saying. And they never let on. I found out later that the older I got, the smarter they were.
Ian, it is 36 degrees F here with rain, maybe freezing later. They will most likely close the schools, not to mention the golf course. Good news is that Wednesday the high will be 70 again!

Here's another nice keyboard performance (just uploaded) by Rico,
but this time on his accordion which has even 'smaller & lighter keys',
highlighting the rewards of spending a little time to
learn to adapt and master different key feel & key sized instruments. smile

I always try to use at least two keyboards. On house jobs I use one or two additional keys on my right hand at 90 degrees.

I had a three keyboard Yamaha Electone also. Neat thing is, you could "shake" your right hand while playing and get a response sensitive vibrato. The whole keyboard would move.

I have toyed around with a 3rd key at 45 degrees to the right on top of my 2 mains, it actually worked out quite well at that time for solos...
