Ok guys,
I just checked the voltage output of the official Tascam adapter unit and it's got a 5V - 1.5 amp output rating,
so it appears my HTC AC-USB Charger Adapter plug (5V - 1 amp)
will not provide sufficient voltage output to the recorder.
Don, I suggest you check your AC-USB Charger output specs as well,
as insufficient output will put an undue strain on (and possibly burn out) the power adapter,
and possibly even eventually damage the recorder.

Fran, thanks for the heads up. rocker
I'm not taking any chances so going to look around for a similar adapter you found that's got the specified output rating required: 5V-1.5 Amp

Scott,

Ordered my 32GB with the Tascam, if I need to send the Tascam back I can keep the card for my camera.

BTW and for 8 hrs recording I have order a spare car battery and a set of jump leads so I don't run out of power in the little critter.

woot

I've been plugging mine into the USB about every night for a year or so.
No problemo.
Here's what the specs on your model say:

Power Options
The recorder can operate on 2 standard AA batteries, by USB bus power from a computer, or from a USB AC wall adapter

Sandisk 32 G sd card

Has anyone found a 32g Sandisk at a better price?

32G Micro $9.00

You can use this with an SD adapter and save some bucks?..

I suspect the 'google' search link to a '$9 for a 32G Micro' was inaccurate! eek2
When you go to the page the link takes you to, none of thse vendors listing are offering a 32GB microSD card for even close to that price.
Cheapest on that list is from Amazon ($29.90 incl shipping). The one from eBay ($9.78 incl ship) is for a card reader, not a 32 GB microSD card.

Hi All,

My Tascam DR07 MK11 as arrived today and frankly I cannot see it being much good for recording quality music, unlike Scott I did not have it in my hand before I bought it. I might be completely wrong but it has the feel of a piece of cheap plastic, you need to bolt it down to stop it blowing away, I have not used it yet but if it is any good I am sure either me or Scott will be posting. Maybe Donny was right the PC based software might have been better, as I say I can always use it for meetings when join up with the SAS lads. When you get to nearly 70 you know intrinsically when something just does not feel right and the Tascam doesn’t, maybe I will be proved wrong.

Sorry to hear that Tony maybe you should give mix craft 5 a try? If you get it I'll be glad to walk you through the process. Good luck

Donny,

I haven't tried it yet but I will shorty, when I opened the box the manuals are heavier than the unit.
