Two sound engines, with two MIDI inputs on the back, one for each.

The first is labeled as Voice and is for your keyboard -- most of the time.

The second is labeled "MIDIFILE" and is for attaching your computer output.

There is also a USB MIDI connect on the back, too, that can address both or either.

There are separate Volume knobs on front panel for each Synth, plus a Master knob.

The idea is that you can play back MIDI files on the MIDIFILE synth while playing your keyboard or other MIDI controller instrument on the other synth, with access to the most used solo voices on that synth readily available. You also have User Presets on that one, which you can use to store your own customized patches, which might consist of layered patches from the first bank, or patches with effects, etc. for one button access to them in performance.

Not really all about recording, this one is more about live performance. But you could surely use it for recording, too.
