So I just took the plunge into the iPad world mainly to display my charts. What apps do you iPad users recommend to display lead sheets?

Thanks!

UnRealBook Pro - Hands down the best!
==> http://diystompboxes.com/unrealbook/

Don't forget to get a BlueTooth pedal to turn the pages.
==> http://www.pageflip.com/Home_Page.html It's a must!

This setup has revolutionized the way I play music!

Also I have several songs that I wrote lead sheets by hand. Is there a way to scan them and put them on the iPad?

Thanks Al. I'll look into those.

I don't agree - I had Unreal Books and found another App that works better - GoodReader.

I converted thousands of leadsheet into PDF format and use Itunes to transfer them from my Macbook to my Ipad.

MusicReader allows easy annotation and creation of playlists.

So which page turner is better?

Pageflip:

http://www.pageflip.com/Home_Page.html

Or AirTurn?

http://airturninc989.corecommerce.com/Bl...-Board-p82.html

Is the AirTurn one unit or three seperate units that can slide around?

Is this the X holder that is being used for the ipad or are there other X holders?

http://www.thegigeasy.com/index.html

BTW, I just contacted them to find out if they have or will have a model that will fit the other tablets that are flooding the market.

Hi Scott, MusicReader 4 uses PDFs. I use the AirTurn page turner. Occasionally I have to restart MR on the iPad at the beginning of a gig to get it to work, but otherwise it works flawlessly. I use the xClip which is a fair bit cheaper, on a 13" gooseneck to bring the iPad closer to me.

First thing I thought of was... is the click going to be audible? (Not good!) The Airturn promote is that it is silent. I don't know about the Pageflip. Anyone got one? It costs less.

I use Footime with MusicReader. It works well on my laptop. I am thinking about an Ipad also.

UnRealBook allows you to make Playlists from the songs already on your iPad.

You can use the build in Camera to actually take a photo of sheet music from another musicians book and convert it to a PDF, create a bookmark, and add it to your playlist in about 40 seconds.

UnRealBook uses bookmarks so if you have a sheet in a FakeBook on page 532, simply create a bookmark add it to your playlist and when you select that song, it will automatically display that page without delay.

UnRealbook will allow Sync to all the iPads in a band to turn the page at the same time from One pedal (leader/conductor).

It has a built in music player so you can link an MP3 to sheet music and play the song from your playlist.

You can have Multiple Playlists.

You can re-order your playlists easily by using drag-and-drop.

You can annotate music/scores on the fly and they retain the notation.

You can edit/create your own lyrics or add lyrics to a song.

It has a built in metronome.

and on, and on, and on.

This is why I like it.

Although I don't yet have an ipad, I am planning on purchasing one in the near future and a friend told me about an app he uses on his call Onsong, which is the best app for worship leaders using an ipad. It will import charts and songs directly from Song Select (the library service of CCLI license holders, which avery church and ministry should have) and has all the features you need for leading worship including bluetooth technology for sharing your list with other musicians and doing page turns, pulling up songs on the fly, etc.

Ditto to everything Al has said. I do use Good Reader it's a great app, just don't use it for lead sheets, but for owner's manuals and a ton of other important PDFs.

ScottL

I prefer the PageFlip versus the "AirTurn". It's a neat self contained pedal with rubber backing so it doesn't slide all over the floor.

I use the xclip

I sometimes sing over Karaoke tracks. I am using a netbook but want something smaller. Does anyone know if Ipad or Android has an app to play them. It must be able to change key and import files from my pc.

I could use MP3 and scan the lyrics, but I have a good size library of MP3&G as well as CD&G.

I recently got iGigBook. Has a crazy great fake book index. You can add your own PDFs too. Does set lists. Doesn't have the annotation features of UnRealBook. I'm going to use it on a job this weekend.

I create playlists with my GoodReader also. It is very easy to use - doesn't require additional hardware and is updated as the author makes improvements. If you are using leadsheets as opposed to 2-staff piano music most of them fit on one screen - no page turning needed!

I downloaded all these programs - the cost was well under $50.00 for all of them and after trying them I landed on GoodReader.

So, anybody know how many of these cool apps are available on non-ipad tablets? Or, are there similar apps available for non-ipad gizmos?
