For those of us who know Joe Lee, he has been having an extremely tough time. He was in the hospital with COPD and pneumonia for more than 40 days. He is home and doing somewhat better.
Even worse, his son, Joe Jr., had been missing for about a year. His body was found last week close to a nearby small town.
Two women are being held as suspects in his murder.
I know Joe will appreciate your prayers or good wishes. He can't see well enough because of cataracts to do much on the internet, but I know several of us talk to him on the phone, and he sure could use some encouragement.
You may recall that Joe did the videos for our Shreveport Arranger Jams, and he is an accomplished guitar player and singer who uses a Ketron module as arranger.
Joe Jr's funeral is scheduled for Friday in Benton, AR.

Don, as we talked, please tell him I'm thinking of him. You're a good friend and I'm sure he appreciates the sensitive support you always provide in times like these.

I'm sorry to hear that as well and his son passing away. Family is our most important treasure here on Earth, and when one loses one member, the pain is too much. May God bless and confort Joe Lee and his beloved ones.

I talked to Joe today. He is feeling much better now and seems to have licked the pneumonia. I think the closure of having the funeral has taken some of the weight off his mind.
His next battle is with cataracts, which are keeping him from doing much at all on the internet, but he wanted me to thank you for your prayers and good wishes.
A number of his musician friends are planning a benefit and tribute performance in November to help Joe with the funeral expenses and some of his tremendous hospital bills. Even with insurance they add up in a hurry. I hope to be able to make the benefit. I'll let you know when I know the date.

Give my best to Joe. Cataract surgery appears to be in the cards for me as well. Tomorrow morning I'll be at the eye center to set up a date for surgery sometime in early January for both eyes.

Don and Gary, cataract surgery appears to be nothing like it was years ago. I have a customer who had the surgery on a Thursday and was dancing his ass off on Saturday. He said that the only thing he minded was having to stay still for the better part of 24 hours. No pain at all, he says.

My dear father-in-law needed the surgery, but as an Alzheimer's patient, couldn't understand the need for limited movement.

Good luck!

The shame is, it won't make either one of you any prettier (LOL)!

The downside is that when I look in the mirror I'll be able to see how old I really am. wink

Cheers,

Gary, I think it's not the years as much as the miles.

Gary... no shirt, Shitlock. Luv ya man. Gawd, I hate aging. No place for sisses, as Betty Davis sayd. I actually remember her! Do any of you guys remember a horror film with her... something with name of "Charlotte?" Some gal's head was cut off. Man, that scared the gonads off me at about age 15.

All you guys... Russ... at least, I got a geetar out of you. Gary sold me a keyboard. Which I whored. Don... got me a whore, which I hocked for a geetar. From Russ. So, it's a never-ending circle for synthzoners.

I refuse to comment on the grounds that it might tend to incriminate me.
