This is to inform the membership that my good friend and Synthzone member buddy POZ has recently suffered a stroke and that according his family, his condition is looking bleak.
Pose has many friends here, so his family has asked me to post this. Your prayers, thoughts, and best wishes to him and his family will be most deeply appreciated.

- Scott

note: POZ designed and built the following awesome customized Logitech Z5500 PA System for me.
It's aptly titled the: POZ-I.
I used this for my large outdoor street party gig over the weekend and it covered the crowd beautifully, and with plenty of power to spare.

Thanks for the updated information, Scott. I talked with him about two weeks ago, then talked with his wife about 4 days ago and he was not doing well. He is a very dear friend who is suffering through a horrible series of health problems for which the outcome is bleak. He a very caring individual that has always shared his knowledge and friendship with everyone he met, both on the Internet and in person.

Scott, that's terrible news, so sorry to hear of Poz's medical problems. From time to time we have corresponded, last time I was in contact with him, he said the doctor's were amazed that he had the comeback he did from a previous ailment, he was in great spirits at that time. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

I used to Skype with POZ but not much in recent months. The last time we spoke he was not doing well and it seemed like he was having a difficult time with life in general. I sure hope all goes well for him.

Update:
I had a chance to speak to Poz's daughter Marcel earlier tonight.
Poz's stroke is actually a complication resulting from a malignant tumor found many months earlier,
so the prognosis doesn't appear hopeful. He's not expected to survive more than a few days.
The doctors have him on morphine to hopefully help alleviate the pain.
Marcel assured me earlier today that she will deliver her father our messages of love and support posted here, on her visit with him tonight in the hospital.

Our good friend and fellow Synthzone member passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning, while surrounded by his family. My sadness over his passing is beyond mere words.

Rest In Peace Old Friend,

Gary

I've got very Sad, but not unexpected news.
I just got off the telephone with Poz's daughter Marcel (at the hospital) and she told me that Poz passed away earlier this morning. He had been battling cancer for some time, so the recent stroke, because of his already compromised health, following a removal of a brain tumor last year, was something that sometimes can later occur. The reassuring thing is that Poz died peacefully with his family by his side. During the last few days, the docs had him on morphine. Marcel told her father yesterday about all the beautiful words of support posted by members here and assured me that her father acknowledged and appreciated them.
My love and support to his wife Judy, daughter Marcel, and son Tim, and their entire family during this difficult time. We will all miss him.

Sad news for Poz's family, SZ'ers who knew him, and, of course for you Scott, as you were in contact with him quite a lot, especially recently.

May he rest in peace.

Al,

Don't wait till they're dead to place them in a hall of fame--do it now. Telmo gets my vote for the most creative and inovational performer.

POZ was beyond a doubt the best sound technician that ever graced this humble forum.

Cheers,

Gary cool
