Hello SZ,

I'm going to do a few nights at an Italian Restuarant. The owners asked if I could do any Italian music. "No problema" I tell him. The truth is I don't really know any Italian songs. Could any one recomend a few good ones and what styles/voices you use?

I hope to learn a few by Friday so some lead sheets would really help!

Also the owner loves the tune "Brick House" for the late night crowd. Anyone got a good style for BH that would work on a Tyros 2?

Thanks!

WOW ... learn 'a few' Italian tunes by Friday ... industrious to say the least smile ...

Mala Femmena **
Volare **
Non Dimenticar **
Al Di La **
O Sole Mio **
Oh, Marie **
Come Back to Sorrento **
Come Prima **
Amore Scusami
That's Amore **
Buona Sera **
Arrivederci Roma **
On an Evening in Roma **
Roma nun fa la stupido stasera (Rome don't be silly/stupid tonight) - I LOVE this song ...

** These lead sheets can be found at this great site:
http://www.wikifonia.org/sheet

You can also transpose the sheet before printing to whatever key you want ...

google searches might give you Italian lyrics and or SMFs to learn the melody, style, etc.
Best of luck ...

PS ... I sent you an e-mail ...

That's a great help Tony. I do have Volare in my book already. With those lead sheets I should be in OK shape to pull of a few italian tunes by Friday.

Thanks also for the recording of the song that you recorded on your Techniques keyboard. I enjoyed it very much!

My friend has a T2 and there's a stock style on there with the right intro and style for Brick House. Don't know what the style name is, but I'm sure any Yamaha guy on here will be able to tell you within minutes.

Thanks!

For Brick House, use the SoulShuffle style under the R&B section of the keyboard. "C" Variation seems to be pretty good for this one. You can play your own intro, or just use the second one, which seems fairly appropriate.

Hope this helps,

Almost forgot, Tony's list and mine are nearly identical for Italian songs. He just sings in Italian much better than I do. wink

Cheers,

Gary cool

Thanks for that, Gary. I've been bustin' my a** trying to get hold of my pal in the UK for that style name. He's on holiday abroad somewhere right now, and he doesn't do cell phones.
