Does anyone know for sure if the 61 key PA3X has a hard drive? What other differences are there if any?

Hi Deane....

No hard drive DEFINITE!!
No lift up screen, and the keybed is different. The keybed of the 76 is a new one from Fatar that is about it. Styles are great, although they probably should be as a source tells me a lot of the folks who worked for Gem are now working for Korg!!

When Technics stops to produce keyboards, the sound engineers get to work at Yamaha.
Result :Tyros Mega,SA,& SA2 voices.

Dennis are you sure about the keys because the 61 one is also semi weighted? I understand that both have the same keys. Well the 76 a few more.

From what I understand, on the 61 key, a 2.5" SATA Hard Disk is optional. [standard on the 76]

They both use USB for file storage and transfer. 2 USB Host Front/Rear (2.0 Hi Speed) and 1 USB Device Rear (1.1 Full Speed) connections.

The Complete Specs KORG Pa3X Professional 61 & 76

The 61 key is about $3,700
The 76 key is about $4,000

Will it accept any generic 'off the shelf ' 2.5" SATA Hard Disk,
or only a hard disk unit purchased from Korg?
What is the maximum storage capacity supported?

Good point Scotty. Don't know why any SATA would not work. Hate to see the price Korg wants for "their" drive.

In the specs sheet it lists 400 styles for the 61 and 500 for the 76. Can anyone confirm that? If true - which category has the added 100 styles?

Deane,

It is a little confusing, because I think you may be comparing the PA3 Pro 61, with the PA3 Musikent 61. The Pro has 400 styles on both the 61 and 76. The Musikant has 500 styles on both the 61 and 76.

It is my understanding, The Musikant is available in Germany only, and the Pro is for International distribution. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong?

In conclusion, from what I can gather, the only difference between the 61 and 76 Pro is 15 keys, a hard drive, the motorized tilt display, the weight (6lbs / 3.2kg difference), and about $300.

Corrections welcomed

I would hope that the key action is the same between the two models. At this price point, Korg should put it's best foot forward, and not economize on the smaller unit.
