Is the Paiggero basically a 76 version of the E423?

I'm looking for a light weight keyboard with speakers to bring to my voice class and use as a back keyboard if I'm ever in a bind.

Anyone tried either?

Thanks!

I was talking to Scott Lee today. We are both very interested in the Piaggero. I haven't seen them in the stores around here yet.

I understand the some SZ members won the Piaggero in a contest. Hopefully they or anybody that's played one will reply.

I'm familiar with both and have used both for my in-office backup board at the church where I'm on staff.

Obviously, if piano is important, then the V80 is better - "LIVE" piano voice + 76 keys. It's more piano-centric, whereas the E423 is more synth-centric.

Other E423 vs. V80 differences:
1. 700 voices-including world voices vs. 500 voices
2. USB to Host vs. USB to Device-instant playback from USB
3. 174 styles-including world styles vs. 165 styles
4. 2.5 watts per side vs. 6 watts per side
(however, the E423 seems to put out more dynamic volume levels)
5. 150 arp patterns vs. 'intelligent arpeggiator' with arps matched to individual voices.

Exclusive to the E423 are the 2 live control knobs for arpeggiation and filtering - which add versatility.

Hope this helps.
Tim

Thanks Tim. Can the Piaggero play back SMF?

Yes, the Piagerro V80 has USB to DEVICE, which allows instant playback of MIDI files - very useful feature.

BTW - Sam Ash carries both boards, as does Musician's Friend.

Thanks Machetero for the informative demo links and Tim for the feature comparison with the Yam. E423.

I was hoping, in addition to performing as an ultra lightweight stand alone 76 note piano style arranger, the Piaggero could also double as a master kb controller for my Tyros 4, but discovering now it lacks midi in/out ports seems to have nixed frown that idea. Oh well.

This is how arpeggiator works on MM6. I personally don’t see much point of this feature for a traditional kinds of music, I guess that’s why there’s no such things on Tyros. Also, without knobs and delay effect it sounds pretty dull.
