Hammer...the styles are really nice...they are better detailed than in the G-70 and E-series...there's no mistaking the difference.

Thanks for the demos.

Ian

Although the sound quality is ok after hearing these demos and the demos on the Roland forum I have decided not to buy this module.

Frans,
The demos I posted are a very slim selection of many. I would certainly not say they were the best of the categories or the worst. For instance, the file Roland provided has nearly a 1000 song setups in it. It will take time and hopefully others besides me posting examples to represent a clear picture of the unit.

I am not suggesting to anyone to buy or not to buy the BK-7m - that has to be the individual's decision.

Yes Hammer but I also listened to many styles listed on the Roland forum. There is something I don't like about these styles. Sound strange to me.

But this is personal and I am glad you posted these demo's.

Does your HX-1 have aftertouch on the upper & lower?
MAybe I could get one (or something similar)...and use the BK-7m

Thanks Leeboy,

The HX-1 actually has aftertouch availale on the upper and lower manual AND also the pedalboard! (though I believe the 13-note pedal board doesn't support aftertouch both the 20-note and 25-note radiating boards do.)

This makes the HX-1 a very capable controller keyboard. Once you assign a seperate midi channel per keyboard, you can then zone these on the BK-7m using the tone's upper and lower range settings.

HX's are very cheap to buy secondhand nowadays, you would probably pick one up for about £500. If you do decide to buy one, watch out for examples which have had the keyboard action hammered, it is very difficult to get the touch sensitivity control to feel right with very worn examples. Ideally try it out with an external sound module to test this.

Cheers

John

Hi Deane

Thanx for putting up those demos, it really helps us get an idea of what it can do in our mortal hands clap

What is the name of the song for the 6/8 ballad, I just can't think of it. Also for the Rhumba and Unplugged Shuffle.

Thanks for the demo's Hammer, nicely played. I cannot believe Roland are getting away with something sounding like that in 2011.

Scott,
The Unplugged Shuffle is "Heart of MY Heart".
The Trad Rhumba is "That Old Feeling".
The 6-8 Ballad is "Only You".
