Hello!

I am everyday user of Ketron SD1. Yesterday I've installed your new OS4.0b, and I have some complains, that you should consider:

SOUNDS:

Generally, they're much better.
I like Pedalsteel, Mantovani, Organs, Bellow, Flamenco, Stradivari, Dixie trumpet, Miller(!!!), Pads, Mandolin.
Unfortunaly they erased some of best sounds of OS 3.0!!! WHY???

They erased:

Accordion - SEINE (best accordion),
Strings - SOLO VIOLIN (best solo violin),
ORCHESTRA is now real orchestra, I like it and appreciate, but that sound for me was the best violin section on SD1!!!!!!!

I need that sounds desperately, but I also like new sounds.

STYLES:

Much better.
But you still haven't added Rhumba (slow rhumba, tempo 96), and Greek style (for Sirtaki, it could be very useful).
I also need some good Rock ballad rhythm, tempo 60 - 65.

OTHER STUFF:

I like option Jump to Style! But they need desperately improving it. When Midi file is playing, when you press # and * to choose Style, they could also add to choose Tempo and Intro. After that by pressing Start (or some other button on keyboard) again chosen style (intro) could begin, and not immediately like now.

That could improve our performance on stage and it will take less time to go to next song.
It's also annoying that some of styles are written in BIG CAPS and some of them in All caps.

I also haven't gor bad experience with polifony (YET!!).. so, for now, 4.0b is staying.

Bye,

Marin Tuhtan

Yes, but I prefer the new drum kits, and the overall sound, but I'm also not happy that the sounds are less punchy, and my singer often says to me to increase the melody volume (right hand) with some sounds.
I think for increase polyphony, they deleted the sounds who are using multi layers...

Hello!

Now, as a few-day user, I could say more things about 4.0b system.

It's really annoying polyphony cut-off that appears from time to time, especially when I use layers on right hand
in combination with Lower playing. Will Ketron solve this problem soon?
It's really a BIG mistake. They should have known the capacity of SD1's hardware before they increased quality
of sounds.

Second thing!!
Style Piano Bal (on 8 Beat) HAS NO ENDING!!!! And INTRO on this Style is also not functioning as before.

Lots of things have changed, and lots of rhytms are slightly different.. worse than before. My opinion is that
Ketron's specialists have listened suggestions of some users that are not competent to talk about styles.
Some rhytms have lost groove, too.

Have you noticed that Vocalizer from time to time has problems, when you Transpose arrangement?

I'm waiting a good solution for Polyphony cutoffs without reinstalling system back to 3.0c!!!!!

And.. mostly, I like new sounds.. but I miss some of old ones. I'm still in doubt what to do.

Bye,

Marin

I'm glad you brought these observations up . I checked my SD1 and found the same problems . The note drop off is noticable. Dano

Note drop off is the reason why I installed 3.0 back, even though Ketron did make it a bit better from 4.0a to 4.0b.
This is my greatest wish for the moment - to have at least as good polyphony in 4.0 as it is in 3.0.
Until this happens, I will have to live without new styles and functions.
It's hard but it's worth to be patient, Ketron always works on improvements.
