I know the SD1 has had a few floggings on this board but we a/b'd a Tyros and an SD1 running through a 5k full blown PA system in a large hall the other day and the Tyros sounded thin and weedy and lost itself, the SD1 really did it's job. So here's one to you Ketron - I know there are a few operating system bugs and quirks but I've got to give the SD1 10/10 for sound quality and realism.

Cheers

I agree!

The sound or the styles aren't the reasons I'm seeling mine... I still think the SD1 is the best sounding arranger keyboard! If it only had full size piano action keys...

...I heard some of SD1 plus demos,hope that there'll not be so many OS bugs... sound is great... especially DRUMS! I think that in the couple with my Kurzweil K2661 will give a very good sound at the end...

...so many people here in Croatia have this machine... maybe to many... now I know why... I was sceptic about arranger keyboards and think that is not a "profy" stuff... now, I have to say it's best sounding machine I heard... better than, TR Extreme, Fantom X, Motif ES... I had two of them and tryed Motif es... Ketron has, for me, the best live sounding... For me, in the sound quality order: 1. SD1 plus
2. Tyros (psr 3000)
3. PA1x
4. G70 (to big, and sounds could be much bether)

...OS, and number of bugs are some other story...

I never heard an Technics keyboard live or demo mp3 so I can't tell anything for sure...I heard great stuff about them... the same for Casio

...notice something, think is true, in a few words:

America = 1.Yamaha, 2.Technics, 3.Korg
Europe = 1.Ketron, 2.Korg, 3.Roland
(number of users)

Dan,
I was wondering
...what sounds do you use on each keyboard? Do you have any suggestions how to use them in a pair? I'm planning to buy Kurzweil's Classic Synth CD- ROM with emulations and samples of some classic synth like D50,T3, 01, JD, M1... and many others real analog synths...
