I will be purchasing an SD-1 when OS 4 becomes available. A dealer I spoke to mentioned that the distributor in New York would simply install the upgrade before sending the keyboard out to the music stores. Does it make sense for me to wait until new keyboards are sent from Italy with 4.0 installed? The reason I ask this is because I know there are sometimes hardware upgrades as well. I want to make sure I get the latest in both software and hardware. Will you please advise.

I think it's worth the while to wait till the new keyboards with OS 4.0 arrive (you never know what they are going to fix inside too...)

There are no hardware adjusments being made to the SD1 model. All changes will be done within FLASH via software plus minor updates to optimise certain features. You will also not be able to tell the difference b/w the boards currently in NY versus those being shipped from Italy with OS4.0 since the latest OS is always installed at the port of distribution for each country as they are released.
