Ok none of us are going to win a beauty contest; well maybe DonM, but why are many members deleting their profile pictures?

I think it adds a sense of humanity to the membership and maybe we will think twice before making that snide comment if we are staring at someones mug.

C'mon, lets add those pictures!!!!

What kind of error do you get when you try to add a picture?

The photos have to be very small in pixels. See the specs on the page where you post.

Al,

You and Nigel are a smart looking lads, there are some of use not so fortunate, we wouldn't want to scare people away now would we, better to just imaging what we are really like, anyway I might by Lord Lucan, it would blow my cover. Your last comment, there are some people on SZ if they were staring at Jack the Ripper or Don Corleone wouldn't give a toss what they said or posted and thats a known fact. There are one or two who have been seen off by others on SZ, so seeing there faces won't help you hump their fat heads when they do post abuse. There is no way am I posting mine, I know my limitions. You leave your where it is Al, looks OK to me, anyway how old the photo is is more important, you look about 30.

The Invisable Man.

In my case my current avatar represents better my interests than my face which was my first picture profile.

I agree !! All members should post their mug shot - and that way, we will instantly recognise each other
if we should, in this ever shrinking world, bump into another Member in the street or on the subway!!

NB. SZ Members can be found busking worldwide in the most unlikely places - you duck down a back
alley, run round a corner and find one !!
.

.
Could this be the REAL 'Don M' ??

Sadly, I nearly always forget to comb my
hair before a Police photo-shoot, and also when the speed
cameras flash as I drive sedately by !!

Regards

John

Yep they must be smaller than 80 x 80 .... in other words they have to be 79 x 79 or less.

lmao Tony, I was just selective about the photo I used. Some I looked at weren't so flattering .... so I didn't use them of course.

Nigel,

No one in their right mind would pick a photo of themself that looks like Herman Munster, would they ??? Mind you if you were going to cull someone a photo like Incredible Hulk would explain things away. BTW any photo of someone else would do for us over the pond, we are never likely to meet.

Tony

At the top of this page:

1. My Stuff
2. Edit Profile
3. Scroll down to Upload Your Avatar
4. Click "Browse" for a photo from your computer
5. Wait for the upload to complete, and click "Submit"

As stated above the photo must be less than 80x80 You can resize a photo with Windows Paint, IrfanView, or many other free photo editing applications.

Try it...

I get a message that any type of picture that I try to submit "picture can be no larger than 100000 bytes"

When I have some time I'll look into those re-size programs.

Wish it were as easy as FaceBook:)

Or , if you are a Mac user , just resize with "Preview"

Like Larry said it must be less than 80 X 80 pixels.

As long as the photo is 79x79 or less it should be fine. It doesn't sound like your pic is that small if it is over 100KB. Even at 32 bit a 79x79 pic will not come close that so it would seem your pic is too big.
