Hi,
I wonder when Ketron at last makes something
regarding of that Ketron SD-1 polyphone matter, as well as put bigger sample RAM and
or add GIGASAMPLER type samplestream ability direct Hard Disk into SD-1 as well as get bigger display ???!!!

Almost every other arrangers has 120 - 128
voices polyphone nowadays, have more DSP chips (naturally more simultaneous voices and effects then).

Why such an small display still ?

Memory chips are so CHEAPs !!! nowadays, that
why not any bigger sampler RAM still ? like
256 MB, or so (or even that above told HD based sample stream ability) along with up to 24 bit/and true 48 kHz sample rate. Even true 44.1 kHz would be nice.

Some arranger keyboards have got even CD from
which you can download wav and mp3 samples,
edit them and play along with keyboard !!!

I truly wonder when some new improvents are coming out from Ketron.

You will see most of the above mentioned points and a lot more yet-to-be-seen features on our next product-line.

Thanks,

AJ

To add something to AJ's statement, it would be nice if you could just keep adding to an existing keyboard all the things you wish for, but in reality, because of the limitations of the main proccessing board, this is not usually possible (Am I right to this point AJ?) Sometimes you can change a few things with operating system updates, but the main microprocessor is the heart of the keyboard and a new one is develeoped each time a new keyboard comes out on the market, unless the company uses the same processor in some new model name. This would be the case of the X1, SD1, XD9. Am I correct AJ?

You must remember that music gear you buy now was actually first designed some years ago and is based on technology at that time and not now. And by the time that products in design now arrive, they will reflect what is available now and not what is available at the time they hit the market.

Computers change every couple of months, but this is not the case with electronic music gear due to to design and marketing considerations. And I'm not just talking about Ketron but gear from ALL manufacturers.
