I would like to have more accordion sounds available in my XD3. How do I go about doing this? Can I purchase a disk, download them from the web, make them myself?

I took a look at Ketron's web site for the first time in about 6 months. It's all new! Kind of confusing and busy but I'll get used to it.

I'm an accordionist and need the nice-sounding stereo Ketron accordion sounds. I just need more of them!

Thanks.

Tommy

The Accordionist,

The XD-series can be updated with new sounds once you purchase the new Sound chip extention. This chip is very easy to install and once installed, you are now open to a new lib. of sounds that partain to you ... including accordion sounds.

Currently available is the new Contemp. package from Ketron that does include accordion voices (in stereo).

Contact your closest dealer (or Bell Douvox Corp.) for more details.

Thanks,

AJ

The flash card I bought from Ketron came with 8 sound disks and loaded with various sounds. There is only one new accordian sound which is called oldmuset. Given that this is the only sound kit avaialable today, I am somewhat dispappointed that Ketron does not offer more voices, and also does not let users load there own samples.

Thank you for that information. I definitely won't buy that card. I guess I'll be forced to buy a Motif Rack or a Roland XV-5050 to get all of the sounds that I want.

I have an XD3 and I bought a Roland 2020 for extra sounds. This has the same sound set as the 5050 but you edit it using a PC rather than the front panel.

There is not an abundance of Accordians on there and what there is doesn't come close to the ones on the Ketron. I would check out to see that there is an expansion card with the sounds you want on before you go down that route.

I only bought it for one reason and that is to put in the SX003 card which is 64Mbytes of a sampled piano. This gives me a great piano sound but it is a pain to gig with (sorry UD) as it means I have to take along a mixer plus additional leads as I already use the input on the XD3 for vocals via a TC Helicon unit.

I would be interested to see if the new card from Ketron features a different piano sound as I find the existing one a bit too klunky in the higher registers.

Unfortunately I live in a very remote part of the world and I can't find anyone in the UK who stocks their stuff.

Hey Nick - Where did you get your's from? What sounds do you get and what are they like?

I would appreciate a response from anyone who has seen/heard/tried/bought one.

Regards to all

I bought the orchestral kit from Maqam music in the US. You can do a search on Google to find this site and get their phone number. I believe Ketron USA also sells them. It was around $200 for the card and 8 diskettes of sounds.

The Piano, and Guitar sounds are excellent. Unfortunately, I don't have software to make mp3 recordings, otherwise I would have made you a sample.
