HQ built in speakers would have been my #1 choice, but it was not there.

The thing I would have put second after low weight and compact dimensions is not offered.

The ability to easily edit every aspect of styles as in the Technics KN7000.

I made my 4 choices, but I felt the poll missed some stuff, my real choices would be:

chord track, midi sequencer, low weight, high quality keybed, highest quality sounds, not an high price.

Samples might be cool if the sampler reads Akai....otherwise not much help. Touchscreen etc....not important

Wow shocked . . So far, only 102 total votes gathered, and considering each person gets 4 votes, that means only 25 people have voted so far. This thread's now got 170 views, so 144 of these people haven't voted yet. Come on people, everyone's input's important as it let's the manufacturer's know the most important features we as a group collectively want in an arranger.

If the poll doesn't include a specific feature you want, add a reply, but please, also vote on the choices given in my poll because 'all our votes' collectively matter! cool

Built in speakers ( great ones ) , are a must , however the most important feature for me would be key feel and action.

Meaning , the keybed should be solid and well balanced ,

You can`t play it if you don`t want to touch it !!

 <<< That was supposed to be an "Apple" !!

Shift / Option / k = apple symbol smile

Sorry, Scott, but it's not NEARLY as comprehensive a list of arranger features to be of an accuracy.

For me, seamless patch change is one of my 'must haves', plus a high Fill/Variation ratio, too.

Choice of key touch and number of keys
Great Vocalizer and Mic settings
Great Styles, with lots of variations, fills, breaks and easy to edit and save
Great sounds
Light weight
Reliable construction
Great support with response to customers
Chord sequencer
Multipads
Good display
Joy stick
Good layout of controls for live play
Good registration/music finder system
Wait, according to specs, the new Korg has all that.
I'll have to hear the styles though.

To answer the post, yes I think a new Poll in in order.
Apparently there is at least one company who is listening to us.

Based on the results so far, the two leading vote getters are:

1) Product Reliability & After Market Support
2) Ultra Lightweight and Compact Portability

Ok Guys, I gave it my best shot when initiating this first ever SZ poll.
If someone else wants to start another poll which includes more features, that's fine smile , but that said, no matter what poll, there's always bound to be yet 'another feature' someone else feels was missed. laugh

Yeah Scott, I just voted, but lets do as Nigel suggests and create a new poll..But can we NOT restrict it to 4 choices?

I wanted to select about 6-7 of those you listed smile

Put all the options you had plus the additional ones, and run it again

Dennis

Dennis, like I mentioned earlier, creating a new poll with more features & different options sounds fine smile , but because it's not possible to edit an existing poll, this requires a bit of time to create a brand new poll 'from scratch', which involves compiling, and then typing out the entire listing again + add the additional requested features & setting up vote options. That said, I'm going to pass the honor over to you, Nigel, DonM, or someone else to set up. smile I look forward to participating as a voter cool in that one!

I have forgot to mention another thing: the ability to have displayed on the score, the intros and endings. Seems a weird thing to ask, but another reason why I like arrangers is that you can study and analyze the styles, arrangements, etc, and thus learn a lot.

Yamaha should definitely get rid of the ridicolous 'Guide' mode on their Tyros and implement more useful and advanced functions.

Scott how do you guys raise or lower the voulme on a particular acc part on the fly with out 9 dedicated sliders is a mystery to me. Sometimes I want the drums up or maybe down on different styles. I guess you have to get inside and tweak and you're stuck with whatever the tweak is on a particular acc part. I use the slides on the fly all the time on my dinosaur i30.

Boo, I see you figured out how to get on!
Actually just about every arranger has a screen you can get to quickly to use buttons to adjust the individual style levels.
The Tyros 4, Roland E80, the Audya, and in fact all the Ketrons, have dedicated sliders. The E50 and Yamaha PSRs have a Balance screen you can leave open or get to in one press that allows you to adjust the part volumes and change instruments.
I agree the sliders are the best way.
It's also very easy, after you adjust the volumes, to save to Registration on any of these instruments.

did I mention that getting rid of the Rompler and implementing 'disk-streaming' like in the Korg Kronos, would be an huge step forward?

compare 256 mb of sounds with 12 gb....

...but it's SO UGLY! And for $500, it better make lunch and drive me to work too. I think it will take a long time for that look to grow on me. I don't like things that stick out ... like the Tyros screen .... it just upsets the lines of the keyboard body. I like sleek and trim.
I will audition the 3x though .... Frankie's got 2 of mine coming in, I think. lol

One of the videos say that the stand attaches to the speaker when it's being used.

You could always use a separate stand for music if needed.
