I played the midi files sent to me by Mr. Imad Salem.
They indeed do sound really good. I want to attempt to edit them to play on the WK8,of course with Imad permission.
Abdallah, I know the Bandaly family, I used to live next door to them in Tripoli Lebanon during the 70's.
SDEL, AATINI AL NAYA is a Fairuz midi file. The tune was a relica of a Brazilian song done by Najib HanKash, and the song was sang by our beloved SIT Fairouz

I know Toni, and I love Fairuz's singing ,but I think roger Bandali made this midi file for that song,he changed the arrangment very tastefully to put it to a 4/4
rhytym, it sounds so nice, and you are right about Najib Hankash,he even mentioned it once on the Lebanese show in the early 70's if you remember,
(Sahra ma3 Il madi),he said people think that I stole this song from the tune La Comparcita,(Tango) which it matches your statement.
Stephan.

Stephan,

You must be from my generation. My mistake and
ignorance about the AATINI AL Naya new arrangment.

I left for the USA in 1978. Made one rip since to Lebanob 1995. Wonder what is it like now?

Stephan,

I played with two different Bands. One in Tripoli (used to be in the "College des freres" high school. That was in the mid seventies. Then I moved during the civil war to a village called Douma, yet still in the north of lebanon and played in the city of Batroun, Biblos, Jounieh and locally. Most of the music we played were french, passo doble and a few TV and movies music.
Those we the most beautiful days of my life. Here, work, eat and sleep.
