Hello AJ,
I hope you have done something with my suggestions I mentioned long time ago.

It would make it so much easier if you added loop recording in the pattern edit. All the arranger keyboards old or new ones come with this very important feature but only sd1 doesn't have it. This is important for people who have to make thier own styles from scratch.

Also is there going to be any oriental kit coming for Sd1. Korg has done a great job for pa80 as for as oriental stuff is concerned, wow very impresive.

By the way there is a problem with sd1 when you want to use the WHA-WHA effect in the Pattern Edit, it doesn't work. I hope it is fixed with the O.S.4.0. By the way if these things can't be fixed with upcoming software please let me know so I can sell my sd1 and go for the korg pa80.

Thanks.

Sev01,

The functions I worked on did not include pattern loop recording (not to say this was not done by another Engineer). The plans for an oriental kit for the Sd1 are still to be developed, and I'll keep you posted. OS 4.0a should be ready by the end of the month (Dec-2002).

Thanks,

AJ

Hi AJ,

Is that a Yes for loop recording in pattern edit or a No, you weren't very clear. Also what about the wha wha problem?

Also on the page 2 of Arrange mode, Retrigg. & Mode you guies should add Bass as well where you have Chord 1 to Chord 5 in the centre of that page.

Sev 01,

Loop recording, Oriental sound-sets & Wha-wha effects in Pattern Edit will not be available in OS4.0a.

In the Retrigger & Mode screen:

The functions associated with the (F1-F10) buttons are for Retriggering notes of which BASS is included (F2). In the center of the screen are the various playback modes for the chords. We did not include the bass in this list because the BASS playback mode controls are accessed directly on the panel by using the BASS buttons (Manual,To Lowest & To Root).

Thanks,

AJ

Wow, I thought Ketron gives value to what their custromers need in their products. I am very disappointed.

Sd1 is a very weak keyboard when it comes to Style editing compare to all the other arranger keyboards out there. Basically you cannot make any detailed changes or add ons to existing styles because of this weakness. Wha Wha if a very important effect for guitars and this cannot be done in pattern edit, what a mistake I bought this keyboard and wasted so much of my time. Now I have to buy Korg Pa80 and spend so much time learning it

I am very disappointed with Ketron, because they didn't do anything with so many suggestions I had for this keyboard, lousy keyboard and lousy customer support.

Sev 01,

I am sorry about this outcome. I hope that your dealer (or anyone else for that matter) did not lead you into believing the Sd1 did have this capability for this was never advertised to the best of my knowledge.

There are an endless number of functions that can be listed but only few can be implemented. Unfortunately with limited memory space and other limited resources, some functions have to be implemented on newer models for we always do welcome new ideas and functionality. Just as the Korg PA60/80 might have this feature, they might have had to forgo features such as Bassist or Drum Remix. This is where some of the variation comes in.

Hopefully we can incoorporate this into a future model; however I must admit that most of the renovations in OS4.0 came from end-users and customers ... like you. Just wait and see what OS4.0 has.

Thanks.

AJ

Hello AJ,

Thanks for the respond, actually there is One thing I hope you can fix if all the other things cannot be fixed at this time.

On page one of Arrnge Mode, where you have BASS OCTAVE, this only affects the Bass octave when you are not playing a style. In alot of arragers there is function called bass wrap around where you can set the bass octave depending how high or low you are transposing the keyboard. Could this be possible on Sd1, and I hope I am clear.

Thanks.
