Hi Bob,

I think what you're hearing on the string sounds is the sampled Bow noise. It make the strings sound more realistic.

Dear Yamaha Support,

Thank you for your reply (BTW, I did a system reset and it did not solve the issue).
Two questions: Are the live strings voice of the T2 the same as the T1? (I will be able to test the 2 keyboards side-by-side on Saturday, whatever the answer).
Second: Even if it is not, how does one, for my ears, mask the "emergence" of the bowed sample when a key is struck without affecting the overall string sound?
Perhaps I am being too picky but none of my previous 9 keyboards over the years exhibited this audio issue.

Bob

I think it's the same sample but it sounds subtley different on the T2.

There is not a way to play the voice without the bowing.

I've had similar issues over the years where a customer is not liking the characteristics of a certain sound on an instrument. Generally the customer is so focused on the percieved problem that they cant hear anything else. I can't change it, but if you demonstrate the voice to an objective third party without telling him its a problem, I think they will love the sound.

Please go to SVP World for the solution to the issue. To make a long story short I replaced all the audio components from power to cables..and now I have a happy T2 and a happy owner.

Bob, congratulations! You had us all scared our own T2's were distorted. Glad to hear it was a relatively simple fix.
