You should buy a Roland because you went and listened to a Tyros2, extensively, and then you listened to a G70/E80 (extensively!), and then you decided that you preferred the Roland......

Or not........

Don't buy either of them until you have given them BOTH a really good test drive, and made up your own mind.

Roland users will say 'buy a Roland', Yamaha users will say 'buy a Yamaha', you've got to figure out for yourself what YOU need and prefer.

The only TRUE difference between the two (they both are arrangers, after all, and can do the same things, albeit in very different ways) is that the G70 has 76 keys, and the T2 only 61. The rest is up to you to decide what you really want or need.......

anyone who gigs and doesn't consider weight has a roadie, loves to lift weights, or is a masochist. i decided there are no choices that are satisfying me out there because they are all over 30 lbs--I don't even like to lift my korg is35 at 28.8..my kn2600 is 25.5 and it's amazing the difference 3.3 lbs makes. kn feels like a feather. so i care not about T2 v.G70 comps, they are both overweight. the choice for me now is between the pa800 and the E60. both are near 30, but the quality will so far exceed what i have that it will be worth it. If i had loved the T2, i'd have grinned and borne the 32 lbs, but i didn't love some things. (r u guys serious w/that articulated sax w/the stupid breath going all the time? I play sax, that's just an annoying pseudorealistic gimmick) when i get to preview them both, that's when I'll decide. seems pa800 should be testable here in a couple weeks. anybody know when the E60 is due?

I agree that the breath feature is a gimmick. However, it is controlled by the SA expression pedal. It is completely optional. I play my T2 quite frequently but don't even plug the SA pedal in any more.

Thank you all. The kn7000 has a fold down lid that hides all the buttons and sliders. With the Roland, are the nobs liable to get knocked when you put into your bag after a gig. Just need pushing to move on as I still think the kn7000 is and was the best keyboard ever. When you are out 3 times a week you get set in your ways and I must get the back up after the new year.

Anyone that buys a $3-4k arranger and transports it in a BAG usually gets what you would imagine - a bag of expensive bits.....!

I don't mind tossing a cheap portable arranger in the $3-400 range around, as long as the memory was backed up and I could buy another one tomorrow at Best Buy, but put $3-4k's worth of precious keyboard in a soft case...... no way!
