Good for you. I recently picked up a Kodak Zi8 and love it. The cool thing about the Zi8 is it records at 1080p or 720p and besides the internal mono mic there is a stereo line/mic input.

Kodak makes great stuff....my buddy works on the QE2 cruise ship and uses a ZX1 all the time to send me videos around the world...I was so impressed by the picture Quality and Sound & that the Zx1 uses TWO AA batteries or included Rechartgables I had to have one and at half price I couldn't resist....The Zi8 is a newer model and certainly has a few better specs that you mention. I like the editing Arcsoft software also easy to use....it's all good enjoy. Hope to see some of your videos playing also.

Donny have you tried it in the lighting at a gig? I only ask cos the reviews mention it isn't so great in low lighting. Otherwise it seems like an awesome deal.

Hi Nigel......works pretty well in low lighting without a video light pretty much just as the human eye sees it, and great sound too.........check your mail I've sent you a few of my gig videos in low lighting.

The Zi8 is the newer model....hence the half price on the one I have ZX1....
I like the AA battery option also vs the Zi8 ...both are very good portable Video recorders...includes Arcsoft Impressions editing software too very easy to use. Also includes, HDMI cable to show videos on your flat screen TV from the camera too !
I ordered the Remote too....so I can trigger the camera on/off from the stage, etc..
