...if you have ever in your life had the notion to investigate country music. Or if you are already a fan. The value of this is astounding... $10 for this? Sheesh, that's the bargain of the year.

Click on the play button for track 12, Tonight I Climbed The Wall. Listen to that steel guitar. This kind of production is a large part of what makes Alan Jackson so great. Classic country sound.

I know that George Strait is considered the king of modern day country music and I like MUCH of what he does but to me, Alan Jackson is the best. I like several contemporary acts (and don't like a bunch, as well) but for that classic country sound, it just doesn't get any better. And 34 number ones for $10? Buy it!

Also, a few weeks back, I recommended the new record by Elton John and Leon Russell. Has nothing to do with country music, but it's a good 'un! And now only $12.99. I think I paid $18 when it was released.

Thanks for the link to the Elton/Leon disk.

I really enjoy that. Leon is my favorite pop writer of all time.

Allen...not so much. In fact, personally, I find most of his stuff borderline offensive and lacking of any substance, other than lyrics (sometimes).

He's a slickly produced redneck, in my eyes...what makes country really hard for me to tolerate.

Bill, I think you are a better singer/songwriter than him.

Different strokes, for sure. Everyone should enjoy whatever turns their "switch".

Allen does not do it (anything) for me.

Kenny is my all-time favorite male singer.

Unbelievable! Check out "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The version with Brian Bromberg on upright is so good it's scares me.
