Eric,
Interesting...IMHO what a poor choice of sounds and styles to demo to that group!

Hard rock guitars? Of course maybe he demoed lots of things and this is just what the video covers?

Obviously, this was an amateur video shot by someone in the audience using a shotgun mic mounted on the camera, hence the poor overall sound.

The audience seemed to enjoy the demo, though.

Each clip shows more and more versatility. I think it appears to be an all around board, although the bashing will continue on...........

Its not bashing... Its just people with different taste. None wil say that Tyros 4 or even 3,2 or 1 sound bad... Because that would be unjust. Tough many Yamaha people seem to forget that there are also some other viable choices...

Next to that i have seen much better performances by Peter Baartmans.

Still wayting to hear The Big Voncken on the Tyros 4.

why? Peter was amazing. He can switch from burning blues guitar soloing to world music, I rarely see so much overall musicianship.
I have also been a guitarist for 18 years and can safely say that Peter's blues soloing was amazing, better than even many skilled guitarist.

But yes the sould quality was crap because of the amateur video. The sound was distorting the input of the recorder, too.

I like Baartmans too...he covers a wide range of music styles with excellent taste and talent.

Poor video didn't do him justice.

Even on Mr Baartmans worst day , he is a great musician.

I wasnt thrilled with what i heard although it was good. But those with a T3 must be wondering why the fuss ?

Anyway i hope yamaha sell a bucket load of T4's as that means there will be some great bargain T2 and 3's on the second hand market very very soon.

Quite probably, Spalding...the Tyros3 is still as superb an arranger as it was when introduced.

I believe the Tyros4 is targeted at the Tyros (one) and PSR owners and not the T2 or T3 user, who are quite happy with what they have and see no need to change.

I always find a new instrument both inspiring and challenging, and I'm looking forward to playing this new T4 quite a bit.

Will I buy one?

Maybe.

I don't need a TOTL arranger to get my musical point across...an S910 serves me well, but who knows?

I had an S900 before I bought the S910, and although the upgrades weren't all that impressive to some, they were enough for me to switch...I really liked the new SA B-3 sounds, and several of the new SA voices, and they were ones I use quite often

Time will tell...yes, I am looking forward to playing a Tyros4...the buzz at head office was quite high when this instrument was showcased...it takes a lot to really impress these people, so it's probably pretty darn good when heard in real-life, rather than on YouTube, or amateur videos.
