I read in another forum that Ketron will present in "Frankfurt 2005" a new Keyboard to replace the SD-1.

Thisnew machine with 76keys also comes with a 40Gb HD and support lots of audio formats including mp3 and the sounds and patterns of older Ketron keyboards...

Does anyone have more concrette information and photos??

regards.

Let's hope there's something to this. Can you imagine... a keyboard that combines all the qualities of the SD1 plus Midjay features!?! That could be one heck of a keyboard. Maybe (hopefully) some news will leak out at NAMM later this week.

I just came back from the NAMM show. I spent many hours at their booth with AJ, Paulo, Lou and Aldo. I think the rumor mill might be wrong this time. I asked and was told that there was not going to be a new SD1 anytime soon. A Midjay keyboard yes, but not anything to replace the 76 key SD1+. This is just the information I received directly from those in the know.

A Belgium friend of mine heard from a dealer : "Ketron joined the GEM-company"

I'm not sure this is correct, but it could be....

If this was true I would think it would have been the talk all around NAMM this week, but I heard nothing at all about this. I don't think this is true.

Team,

Just to answer some 'rumors'...

Did we join GEM/affiliated with GEM in any way?
NO.

Is there a new keyboard to be shown at Mussike Mess this year that will replace the current flagship, SD1Plus?
NO. (which is all I will say ... for now).

Just thought I'd make it clear up front.

Back from NAMM and catching up with all the emails, voice mails, snail mails ... and staying in touch with everyone.

George, good job on the reviews and it was nice seeing you again. Your suggestions will be 'moved' forward and I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

AJ

George & AJ,

Thanks for the feedback/answers.

I truly was hoping for some new arranger keyboard stuff by Ketron. The longer I'm trying to find something better/fit for purpose than my SD1 I discover it is almost impossible! (Not even the G70 or PA1XPro can compete)

Hi, and thank's for the reports.

You're not alone hoping Roel, but it looks like you're pretty happy
with the SD after all since nothing else can compete?

I was on the edge to add a SD1 to my KN, but since it's some years
since Ketron's flagship came, I'm a kind of "lurking in the bushes
to see" if there was something just around the corner this year....
But since AJ say nope, I'll have to see what to do next, but first
I think I'll wait for the Frankfurth report.

Should go into town for a Roland G70 demo and mini-concert performed
by Ralf Schink this afternoon, would have been nice to see and hear
it, but didn't manage to reach it in time. Too bad.
