Hi. Just a quick question...

I play a few styles where I will have an increase in tempo change of up to 50% within same song

2 questions:
are the drum loops sliced. So we can increase or decrease without any crazy timestretching?

Are the guitar audio loops sliced to pieces or
are 1 file which needs to be timestretched with tempo change?

Lee are you concerned about these Audya problems posted before you purchase? For that kind of money I would be very cautious until Ketron gets all this resolved.
This is really in excusable and unacceptable.

Seriously I would wait and see if these problems are corrected and stabilized even if it means a year or two.

I really wanted to LOVE the Audya and was seriously thinking of getting one, but with an unstable Operating system and reading some of these problems I will not take a chance on stage with one. This is totally unacceptable and should have not been allowed to market without the proper intensive beta testing. At $5000.00 each they better get their act together very soon.

Lee, i think the answer to your question is that to you it shouldnt matter if they are
stretched or sliced (which i think is sliced) but how they work or if they work.
In my knowledge that doesnt make ANY difference at all. If you change Tempo to
a crazy difference it would sound crazy no matter how they are done, both Drums
and Instruments loops...and i dont really see it as a decisive question about Audya,
its more of a Waste of Time question...or stretching it. I think you should know by now
what happens to an Audio file when Tempo is changed drastically, no matter how
that loops is done, by Slicing or TS or BS...lol

Nedim,

there's a BIG difference if it's sliced, (not pizza)

if it's sliced, severe tempo change won't alter the overall sound.

if one continous file, severe tempo change WILL severely "degrade" the overall sound.

I think it might be the opposite but i still stand for a big Tempo change it will degrade.
And i dont know why would one care about it at all since i find no use of changing from 140 to 75.

theres a certain style i play where i will increase from 170 to 240 within same song

about a 40% increase,

so this is why i ask if audio is sliced or 1 continous file

Donny ... my friend. Yamaha, Roland & Korg have all had problems with their products.
Not one manufacturer can claim a perfect product.

Leezone,

Most audio parts for the styles in AUDYA are stretched. The grooves are sliced. This is why in some cases, you will hear a style that sounds similar to another (especially in the USER STYLE FOLDER) but recorded at a different DEFAULT tempo (from which you can comfortably go up or down 20% with no change to audio parts). So between these 2 styles, you are covered (for what you want to do).

Thanks,

AJ
