The Audya that will be used at my Church landed today at my home.

I have a couple weeks to work with it in home.

I'll post some tunes and stuff as soon as possible.

My son, who is 16 , has already started to dig in to the board. He is excited.

He performs at the Chuch every once in a while as well.

More to come.

Started to dig in a little. 1st thing I noticed is the keyboard action. It's great. Nicer than the SD1.

The styles are excellent, really great rock styles. Rock style were lacking in the SD1.

I love all the guitar immulation stuff throughout the styles.

Stay tuned..

I finally got a few hours with the Audya yesterday. I have not had a new keyboard to mess with for 9 years.

#1. I never had a keyboard that played MP3 files. This is a huge benefit for my Church for when I may not be able to play. I miss about 5 Sundays a year.

#2. Balancing the styles has taken some time. But Ketron makes it easy because registrations are not needed to adjust volumnes, voices & effects and have them saved. Make your changes, press save & execute.I am have fun with experimenting with the "live guitar" settings. This allows you to select guitar parts within a style and change the feel of the style. Kind of reminds me of Yamahas Dynamic Accompianment on the PSR730(I think 730 or 740).

#3. Overall drum and guitar immulations are excellent. I have always loved the drums.

4. It is taking me some time to get use to the Harmonizer. I am use to the SD1. But I really like having the volumne controls on the front of the keyboard. Much nicer than reaching around to the back. The quality of the harmonizer is excellent.

5. I wish the rock lead guitars were better. Rock Guitars have never been Ketrons strong point. I'll try to edit them.

6. The organs are better on Audya than SD1.

7. Brass sounds are good, but miss the french horn sound.

8.Acoutic Pianos are all top notch. The E.Pianos are all improved over the SD1.

9. It's great to be able to play midi files from the USB stick. Naturally I have many midi files on my SD1 that I have tweeked and named. So I dig having the USB stick. My son likes it as well.

I've only spent about 10 hours total over the last 9 days. Most of the time it has been through headphones.

Tuesdays I am off and my wife & kids were out of the house. So I could finally crank it up a little. Listening to the keyboard amplified live is really amazing. I could really enjoy jamming with the keyboard and making changes.

The Riff modes are very fun. However, if you are performing a specific song with one of the styles with the riff mode, you have to be careful on how you lead into the riff.

The unplgged style are excellent for Church and other applications for recording.

Thats all I have for now. I'll be back.

You don't need to edit them, there are some wonderful lead sounds in the new sound bank. Should be out shortly.

when you say lead sounds, you mean rock guitar lead sounds, like distortion guitars?

new guitar waveforms?
or same old just tweaked, eq'd?

and have you actually heard them?

out soon? as in by end of this year :-)

Yes new lead sounds and programs. I have them but I'm not at liberty to say how I got them. There are also new sounds in almost every category.

Gonna use the Audya tomorrow. I took it to the Church this morning and played it through the PA System (Stagepas 500)we use for the contempory service. Awesome. Very Happy.

The SD1 plus we have is situated very close to the Baldwin Grand we have. I have to move the mic from the keyboard over to the piano and move it back to use the keyboard.

Audya has 2 mic's so I can keep one mic at the keyboard and one at the piano. No mixer needed. Buy having the mic volumne levers on the front, I love being able to balance harmony volumne very quickly.
