I'm about to purchase a Fatar TP400 keybed from Doepfer (demo model). I could make Doepfer add the electronics, but their stuff is expensive - even the LMK2+ module would cost more than the keybed itself and has pretty limitied functionality.

So I'm thinking of using something else. The aftertouch and velocity sensors should be included with the keybed, everything is connected with ribbon cables. A poster on another board informed me that it should be possible to salvage another controller and simply plug the electronics from that into the TP400 keybed.

Do any of you have experience with something like this?

Hello,
If you get to demo an M-Audio Axiom, let us know what you think. It may have the features your looking for at a reasonable price.
Ciao,
Jerry
