For those looking to expand into the world of open audio systems, check this release at Messe....
http://www.openlabs.com/soundslate.html

Its the link to the website as the Messe video is awful.

Seems nice, but the crappy hardware is way overpriced @ $2000. Just my opinion!

Your not just paying for the hardware, your paying Riff and the seamless nature of the entire package as well as the hardware forum factor and connectivity the unit has.

It's a great product in my opinion. The future is going to be very exciting. OPEN all the way.

James

I understand that James, but I personally would expect at least a Core2 Quad processor in a package like that. Components are cheap nowdays, but I guess there is the magic profit margin involved!

I agree with James..

Its much more then just hardware.

Personally i'd prefer a D-beat because it has the dedicated Knobs sliders and pads too and is only marginally more expensive.

Compared to the muse receptor thats just as expensive but has less software/options as its only a vst holder and has no further DAW capabillities it has even better hardware as the standard receptor comes with a 2.77 Ghz single core processor.

Other hardware VST solutions don't come ven close to the options of this box.

Yes I agree Bachus and with James too.

I will certainly be keeping an eye open for when this hits Oz
