Just wondering, I am sure that at one time or another (myself included), got a keyboard or several, that did NOT fit our needs, taste, playing needs, features, or wherever other reason.

Long time ago, I got the Ensoniq SQ80 and the EPS16+(freshly out of the line), many keyboards later, a Roland VA7. All of those I got rid off within 3 months or less.

Like I said at the beginning, the keyboards that simply did not "acclimated" to your playing style/needs etc, NOTHING else.
That's about it.

A Korg X5 get rid of within a week, a roland D5 same story. And a farfisa keyboard ( don't remember which one) get rid of the same day.

For those of us who have some old 'dogs' laying around that we haven't sold yet, maybe a better question would be 'which keyboards do you regret buying in the first place'. In my case, the only one I can think of is a recent purchase, the Roland Fantom G7. If I had a 'do over', I'd get a Korg Oasis (sp) with all the trimmings, instead.

Two at the top of my list...PSR320 (Polyphony ran out and would mute the entire keyboard for several seconds)..it was useless..

and.....the PSR2100...an overpriced exaggerated PSR320...

The arranger I was most glad to get rid of was a Roland KR-650.

Synth-wise, there were two...a Yamaha SY-55, and a Korg M1.

The Roland EM2000, after two screens and 800 bucks later (400 bucks a pop). Roland can keep it!

GEM WK8, apart from it's lovely slick looks and nice screen display, it sounded awfully thin and lifeless, the styles were bland as well which didn't help. The keyboard was also riddled with faults and bugs, the fuse kept blowing inside the board and some of the buttons didn't respond and you had to really push down hard. I still enjoyed it but I thought it was a step backwards from the WX2 I had prior to that.

I never had a keyboard that wasn't great and fulfilled my needs at the time it was purchased. They all performed admirably. And, the only reason I got rid of any of them was because after a year or so of usage I found one that either sounded better, or the OS was easier to work with. Upgrades are always fun--some are just more fun that others.

Cheers,

Gary

Your right Diki, I should have got rid about 6 months back, I wasn't under pressure for the cash so that’s why I held on, I am not certain if it was a wise move but I think by AJ 1 the now “Quiet Man”, the preverbal sparrow we might see something before the end of the month, a bit like “THE CHEQUE IS IN THE POST”. When OS4 comes it will probably SSDD, full of bugs, what else would you expect. A couple or so Audya have been sold on Ebay UK they brought around £2600.00 that’s a kicking of £1600.00 that more than you would lose on a Toyota relatively speaking. If a big outfit like Toyota can get the electronics badly wrong , what chance have Ketron, just imagine if Ketron made a 4 x 4 off roader or Ketron Larger, no alcohol and no fizz . I shudder to think!

Cheers

Too bad Tony, I LOVE the Audya more each day, night actually.
As far as the question, I was extremely happy to unload the Roland G800. It sounded good, but was unreliable. The paint was wearing off the numbers, the joystick spring broke in the first week or so, and it weighed a ton.
I was also ecstatic to dump the Korg PA800. It just sounded awful, variety of styles was non-existent and the fill-ins extremely limited. In all fairness, I'm told the OS upgrade improved it a lot.
I don't care. They had their shot at me, and it missed!

I know you do Don and good luck with it, I still see the Audya side by side with the PA2x and wonder where the £2000.00 is , you can buy two Pa2x for the cost of an Audya or I'm missing something!

Actually I know where you can get a PA2X at a real bargain price. Hammer has been trying to sell his for months now with no takers. I certainly wouldn't trade my Audya for two of them though, and I also turned down an even trade for my Roland E80 for PA2X.
However, if I were you, considering the troubles you have had, and your feelings about the Audya, I would have merely returned it months ago and settled for the Korg. You don't like the company and you're not happy with the keyboard. Why keep fighting it? They will take it back or repair it for you.

Oh how I agree with you Scott.. After I had traded my Technics KN7000 in for the Tyros I bought a KN2600 to use as a second keyboard.. What a mistake! It was the last thing Technics produced and they certainly did NOT go out with a bang.

I've gotten my money's worth from it, Fran,
but now it's expendable. I may put it on Ebay. I'm sure it will sell quickly when I get serious about it.
I think I'll keep the E50 for back up because it's so light in weight.
